PASS on GAS Day 2008The Green School Initiative Highland Park High School

In order to raise awareness about Global Warming, students and staff in the Green School Initiative Club created the “PASS on GAS” day.

On this day, all students and staff were encouraged to reduce carbon emissions from vehicles by choosing not to drive to school.

Over 100 students and staff members rode bicycles, walked, skateboarded, and rode Razor scooters.

GSI hopes this event will inspire HP community members to take small actions in order to live “greener” lifestyles.

Pass on Gas bikes weren’t the only mode of transportation. Students “bladed,” rode scooters and skateboards to HPHS.

Pass on Gas--all participants received a healthy breakfast and “Green” headbands courtesy of our school PTO.

Pass on Gas Day—Saving the environment is fun, it is wonderful exercise & it is a great way to spend time with friends!!
