FONT RESEARCH AND PLANNING – 06/01/15 Today, I researched into different font titles which we could

use in our film opening. From doing this I am now more confident in picking a

suitable font for our titles. This task enabled me to think about different potential fonts

which we could use for the title of our opening. By doing this I now have clear ideas of the particular font which I would personally want to see in our opening for our title.

PERMISSION FOR FILMING – 07/01/15 When conducting my research to whether we would need

'permission' to film in a public place, the results showed that we wouldn't need 'permission' as we are filming our first shot down an alleyway. Before filming our draft footage, we looked around the alleyway to see if there were any signs that objected to us filming there. To our relief there wasn't, from my research I found that filming in a bank's alleyway isn't allowed as that is one of their objectives set.

This task was helpful as if we filmed in a location that we shouldn't have been using, it could have had consequences on our draft footage. By finding the right location to film when filming our draft and from our research we are now confident that the alleyway we have chosen will work, therefore creating enigma in our opening, as the audience doesn't know why the Hitman begins in the alleyway.

MUSIC FOR OUR OPENING – 07/01/15 We looked into un-copyrighted music, trying to find

something that would work for the first few seconds of the opening. After the alleyway scene, we wanted to include some more intense music to compliment the fast-past, jumpy nature of the second half of the opening. We considered making our own music, but decided that we didn't have time to waste on the production, and chose to find and edit together two existing pieces of music.

This task has helped me to now understand what pieces of music we are going to put together and how to go about doing it, making it sound effective yet allowing it to create enigma on our audience at the same time.

THRILLER SOUND RESEARCH – 07/01/15 Today, I researched into thriller sound conventions and am

therefore more confident in producing conventional sound within our film opening.

This task helped me to think about what sounds would work and again reinforce that sound isn't always that important in horror openings. Therefore, as a result of this we will talk over what sounds we are going to use.
