    UNCRATING THE VEHICLE

    IMPORTANTNOTICEThis bulletin must be used in conjunction with the check list enclosed in the bag with the  OPERATOR’S GUIDE  . Make sure that  PRE-DELIVERY CHECK LIST   is completed and signed.

    IMPORTANT

    To obtain warranty coverage, pre delivery procedures must be performed by an authorized BRP Can-Amdealer/distributor. Apply all necessary torques as indicated.

    NOTE: The information and components/system descriptions contained in this document are correct atthe time of publication. BRP however, maintains a policy of continuous improvement of its products with-out imposing upon itself any obligation to install them on products previously manufactured.

    Due to late changes, there might be some differences between the manufactured product and the de-scriptions and/or specifications in this document. BRP reserves the right at any time to discontinue orchange specifications, designs, features, models or equipment without incurring obligation.

    Please complete the   PRE-DELIVERY CHECK LIST     for each vehicle and retain a customer-signedcopy.

    Make sure the customer receives the OPERATOR’S GUIDE  , PRE-DELIVERY CHECK LIST  signed copyand   SAFETY DVD .

    WARNING

    Torque wrench tightening specifications must be strictly adhered to. Where specified, install newlocking devices (e.g. lock tabs, elastic stop nuts). If the efficiency of a locking device is impaired,it must be renewed.

    UNCRATING THEVEHICLE

    Disassembling the Crate1. Carefully lay crate on its bottom.

    NOTICE    Allowing crate to drop may cause se-rious damage to vehicle.

    2. Remove all screws retaining crate top to side-walls.

    4. Remove screws securing sidewalls to cratebase.

    5. Unscrew sidewalls one at the time.

    1.If applicable, remove roof from rear cage section,

    keep plates and screws.

    5. Install rear wheels. Refer to INSTALLING REAR WHEELS .

    6. Lower wheels onto 2x6 planks.

    7. Raise and lower front wheels onto 2x6 planks.

    8. Push vehicle off crate.

    Disposing of the CrateThis crate is designed to be disassembled easilyin order to be stacked with very low height or tobe disposed as per environmental regulations.

    1. Pull canvas off top and sidewall wood struc-tures.

    2. Stack or dispose as per local environmental reg-ulations.

    PROCEDURESUnless otherwise indicated, follow the order in

    which the procedures are presented. Skip anyprocedures that do not apply to the model youare working on.

    Preparation1. Remove panels.

    Installing Front Shocks1. Raise front of vehicle with jack under skid plate.

    2. Remove and discard upper shock bolt on fire-wall.

    2. Clean brake discs with approved XPS brakecleaner.

    3. Install wheels.

    NOTE:  Use the "yellow zinc" M10 retaining nutsfor cage until indicated otherwise.

    Installing the Accessories1. Install accessories (if any) as per their installa-

    tion instructions (included in each kit).

    2. Install any other equipment required by law (ifany).

    Installing the Vehicle Decals1. Install decals on vehicle according to customer

    country language and local legislation.

    2. Ensure that the new decals are installed at thesame location and over the factory installed de-cals.

    FLUIDSCheck/fill fluid levels according to the   PREDE- LIVERY CHECK LIST   . Procedures are available inthe   MAINTENANCE    section of the  OPERATOR'S GUIDE   or   SHOP MANUAL.

    Removing the Protective

    MaterialsEnsure that all protective materials are removedfrom vehicle.

    Doing All Recalls and All OtherModifications Requested byBRPSearch the unit's serial # in the   KNOWLEDGE   CENTER .

    Connecting the PC to theVehicle

    REQUIRED TOOLS

    DIAGNOSTIC CABLE(P/N 710 000 851)

    MPI-2 INTERFACE CARD(P/N 529 036 018)or

    MPI-3 INTERFACECARD (P/N 529 036 353)

    1. Locate the 6-pin diagnostic connector, refer toDIAGNOSTIC CONNECTOR LOCATION  .

    2. Disconnect the 6-pin diagnostic connector fromits holder (protective cap).

    3. Connect one end of the MPI-2 or MPI-3 diag-nostic cable to the vehicle connector.

    4. Connect the other end of diagnostic cable to theMPI-2 or MPI-3 interface card.

    Establishing theCommunication With B.U.D.S.Before beginning, find the latest version available

    on Knowledge Center and compare it with the oneinstalled on the PC. If necessary, download andinstall the latest version.

    1. Connect the PC to vehicle.

    2. Using one of the provided ignition keys, actvate the electrical system by turning the ignition switch to ON position. DO NOT start theengine.

    3. Start B.U.D.S. and logon.

    4. Wait during detection setup.

    5. Ensure the status bar shows the Kw2000 pro

    tocol and the appropriate number of modules toits right according to the vehicle model.

    B.U.D.S. is now ready for edition, programmingand for diagnostics.

    Entering the Customer's Name

    When starting the vehicle, the multifunction dis-play will show the name of the customer.

    To set the customer name in the multifunction dis-play:

    1. Click on the  VEHICLE tab to open the vehicle

    information page.

    2. Type the name of the customer.

    3. Click on WRITE DATA to save the informationin the ECM.

    NOTE:  After you are finished typing the name,B.U.D.S. automatically updates the Delivery Dateon the screen.

    Resetting the Trip Hours and the TripDistance

    1. Select the VEHICLE tab.

    2. Click on the RESET TRIP buttons to reset theinformation.

    Selecting the Language and theSpeedometer Reading

    Gauge settings can be changed to accommodatethe owner preferences:

    – Language   (English, French, Spanish, Dutch,etc.)

    – Units (Miles or Kilometers)

    – Time clock (12hr or 24hr)

    1. Select SETTING tab and CLUSTER page.

    2. Modify the selections in accordance with theowner preferences.

    FINAL INSPECTION

    Checking for Fault Codes

    Click on FAULT tab and check if there are activefaults.

    – If so, service vehicle then clear all occurredfaults.

    NOTICE    After a problem has been solved,ensure to clear the fault(s) in the ECM. Thiswill properly reset the appropriate counter(s).This will also records that the problem hasbeen fixed in the ECM memory.

    Saving Changes and Exiting theB.U.D.S. Session1. Click on WRITE DATA button to transfer new

    settings and information to the ECM.

    3. Disconnect all cables and hardware from vehi-

    cle.

    4. Ensure to reinstall the connector into its hous-ing.

    ADJUSTING THE

    SUSPENSIONThe choice of suspension adjustments vary withvehicle load, personal preference, riding speedand terrain condition. Refer to appropriate shopmanual for complete adjustment procedures.

    WARNINGSuspension adjustment could affect vehiclehandling. Always take time to familiarizeyourself with the vehicle behavior after anysuspension adjustment has been made.

    Refer to the  OPERATOR'S GUIDE   or  SHOP MAN- UAL  for factory settings and procedures.

    FINAL INSPECTIONUsing the   PRE-DELIVERY CHECK LIST   , verify aitems indicate under  FINAL INSPECTION  .

    Cleaning the Vehicle1. Wash and dry the vehicle.

    NOTICE    Never use a high pressure washer toclean the vehicle. USE LOW PRESSURE ONLY(like a garden hose). The high pressure cacause electrical or mechanical damages.

    2. Remove any dirt.

    3. Clean vinyl and plastic parts, using a chamois, aflannel cloth or a microfiber cloth with XPS APurpose Cleaner.

    NOTICE    It is necessary to use a chamois, aflannel cloth or a microfiber cloth on plastiparts to avoid damaging surfaces. Never clean

    plastic parts with strong detergent, degreasingagent, paint thinner, acetone, products containing chlorine, etc.

    4. Clean the entire vehicle, including metalliparts, with XPS ATV wash.

    5. Painted parts which are damaged should beproperly repainted to prevent rust.

    Delivery To CustomerBefore Delivery of the Vehicle

    Complete the  PRE-DELIVERY CHECK LIST  .

    The customer must read and sign the  PRE-DELIVERY CHECK LIST  .

    Give   OPERATOR’S GUIDE     and   SAFETY DVD     tocustomer.

    Any person who rides this vehicle should read andunderstand all the information given on hang tagand safety labels before riding.
