SERVICE:IT Inc has the expertise to make IT solutions simple. Some of

the ways they help their clients includes:• Set up online presence with a website and email• Fix computer problems• Set up a network of several computers to be able to

communicate with one another ef ciently• Identify and install needed software solutions and hardware

components• Building a backup system for storage of important electronic data

With over 11 years of IT experience, IT Inc has the experience to manage any size system. Because they themselves are experts, they use the latest technological advancements themselves to serve their clients quickly, accurately, and reliably. RESPONSE:Owner Chris Eytcheson says that one of the things they pride

themselves on is responding quickly to their clients and staying organized. "That's a big focus of what we do. Getting back to our clients fast and not dropping the ball. We have a system to track all our work. Your typical IT consultant doesn't get back to you right away and often will drop the ball on something, and that's usually because they don't have a help-desk system in place. We use the industry’s leading help desk system, and we're very proud of that."SAVINGS:In addition to quick response, Chris knows that he also pro-

vides cost-savings for his clients. "The competitive advantage I have is that I nd solutions that in the end save my clients mon-ey. We're specialists. We really are strong on Microsoft technolo-gies, and our technicians are highly trained." Chris says, "Overall, we really understand the business needs of our clients."Technology makes it possible to do business form virtually any

location. IT Inc saves clients tremendous time (and ultimately money) by making things like remote access to company infor-mation, le sharing both internally with staff and externally with clients and providing wireless email access available for busi-nesses that would really bene t from this type of technology, but just don’t know how to get it working. For example, a local law rm knew that they wanted to bring

together their website, email, contact management and calendar into one system but didn’t know how to get it done. IT Inc pro-vided an affordable, simple solution by using Google Apps, a new email solution for small businesses. It has a low maintenance cost and, as a web-based system, does not require an expensive computer server purchase. The client was happy and running much more ef ciently.Complex technology doesn’t have to be out of reach. IT Inc

can get anyone, on any system, running more effectively in their business and personal uses of technology. They are the experts, so you don’t have to be.Contact them today by visiting their website: www.ITinc.biz or

give them a call at 1.778.479.1111.

Making IT simple, IT Inc helps businesses save time and money

Business owners are experts in what they do. They started their business because of a passion or skill and desire to make their busi-

ness dreams a reality.

Often, that expertise is not in technology. Yet, it is the technological advancements of our current times

that can help business owners streamline their ef ciency and

service to their clients. So what is a business owner to do?

One option; spend countless hours and money to try and become “good enough” to manage their

technology themselves.

PEACHLAND FITNESS CLUB AND HEALTH BAR

Over this past year the Chamber has made great strides in working with our membership and assisting our local economy in a number of areas . We have a dedicated group on our Board of Directors and have additional new directors joining us this year . Our board is determined to do what we can to promote our current businesses as well as encourage constructive change and to invite new business to open up in Peachland . Our Chamber staff have done an excellent job, again, working with and increasing our membership as well as the organization of the various events we sponsor for the businesses of Peachland . Our Visitor Centre staff have also done an excellent job in the promotion of our Tourism Trade, the most critical component of our local economy . For the fi rst time, Peachland has a full colour, full page Visitors Information Guide which details everything from our beaches to wineries, history, trails, restaurants and much more . This guide has been distributed to every Visitor Centre in the province and will be increased in page count for next year . We have also introduced a new Visitor Information web page www .visitpeachland .ca . This site was specifi cally de-signed to profi le what Peachland has to offer our local, regional and international visitors . We have further strengthened our

President's message from the Peachland Chamber of Commercerelationship with the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association and will be participating in their publications and advertising which is distributed regionally as well as internationally . These are all important steps in assisting with the growth of our local economy . Over the course of the year, the Chamber sponsors or par-

ticipates in a number of events aimed at profi ling our business community as well as creating a network, common bond and social outlets for our membership and business at large . Some of these are, our annual Business 2 Consumer Trade Expo held in April, World of Wheels in May, Canada Day Parade, Chamber Golf Tournament in August, Business Excellence Awards Night in November and Christmas light up . We also hold monthly Business After Hours where we profi le that evening's, sponsor business and invite each business attending to introduce them-selves and explain a little about their each of their businesses . The Chamber is also the Voice of Business and as such is the lobby group who works through our Mayor and Council, MLAs and MPs, to bring your message forward . This is very important because Victoria and Ottawa do listen to the Chambers via the BC Chamber of Commerce and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, both of which we are members . Most recently, the Peachland Chamber has become a member along with the Peachland Hwy 97 Task Force, of the Hwy 97 Corridor Trans-portation Committee (Osoyoos to Salmon Arm), which will lobby for process with our Ministry of Transportation . Transpor-tation is a key element affecting business in the Okanagan Valley .

Seniors' needs are the prior-ity at Brenda Herrin Realty . Brenda works in partner-ship with her husband, David Halverson .Brenda Herrin has been a li-

censed realtor for many years . At one point, she owned and operated two real estate fran-

chises . Then she decided to go on her own in January of 2008, and since she has worked in the Okanagan, her specialty now includes seniors . Brenda always provides thoughtful step by step service to make

the selling of real estate a smooth one . There is no pressure, and clients receive a full explanation prior to every step along the way, so they feel comfortable as to what is happening .Clients can also expect to receive full assistance in the move .

Brenda can arrange for packing and furniture removal, and arrange for unpacking and furniture arrangement at the new home .

Whether it's a drive to the lawyer's offi ce, or assistance with packing and unpacking, it all gets coordinated to make the move as stress-free as possible . "Our seniors just go on with their lives and we do what we have to do," Brenda says .Brenda always involves the family, so loved ones know the

senior is being well looked after . Often the family lives outside of the Okanagan, so it's a great reassurance to them to know that everything is being taken care of ."The huge thing is service with us . What you say you'll do, you'd

better do," Brenda says . "Seniors want to know exactly what is going to happen with every decision they make . They have to trust somebody in all of this, especially if their family isn't here . We never rush them . We go and sit and talk to them . The only difference between myself and another realtor is probably just service . We all have the same information, we all take the same courses, we've all written the same exam . But the difference is experience and service; I've done this for a long time ."Call Brenda Herrin Realty to fi nd out how a realtor with a

specialty in seniors can help you . She can be reached by phoning 250 .212 .6745 . Visit her website for further resume details .

For Roger W . Cyr, it's all about paying it back to the community . Real estate is more than just a career choice for Roger; it’s a pas-

sion of his . One thing he's learned over the 20 years he's been in the business is that the greatest satisfaction doesn't come from the number of houses he sells . Giving people unbeatable service and then going a step further by taking his passion for service to the community is what really gives Roger a sense of satisfaction . "I believe in paying it back . Any business that does well should pay

it back into the community," Roger says .Roger actively and consistently gives back to the community in a

way that no other real estate agent matches . Roger W. Cyr Bursary Program: Every year, two graduating stu-

dents from Mount Boucherie are awarded with a $250 bursary each .Christmas Light Up: In December, he hires a limousine and

picks up local seniors to judge residential light displays during the Christmas Light Up . Miracle Home Program: For each of Roger's real estate

transactions, he will make a donation to this worthy cause on your behalf . 100% of the contribution helps sick and injured children from our community . Through the following special community events, Roger and his

team raises thousands of dollars every year for the Peachland Food Bank:World of Wheels Shuttle Bus Service: Every year, Peachland

hosts the World of Wheels Car Show . To make it easy for people to get to and from the busy event, Roger provides a double-decker shuttle bus service back and forth from the Peachland Village Mall to the downtown area .Paper Shredding Day: On the fi rst Saturday of June Roger and

his wife Susan hire a commercial paper shredding truck to park

at the Peachland Village Mall . Anyone from the commu-nity can bring their personal docu-ments to be shred-ded for free with a voluntary donation to the Peachland Food Bank .Kount the Kokanee: Organized in conjunction with an inter-

pretive program by BC Fisheries and Wildlife and the RDCO, Roger and his team serve up free hot dogs when the Kokanee salmon are spawning in the creek near Hardy Falls .Here are just a few of the services Roger provides to his clients: When people list a house, Roger keeps the homeowner in-

formed with a regular activity report that lets them know about current sales and listings in the market, how many internet hits they've had, and how many virtual tours of the home people have taken . When the house sells, a moving package is gifted that includes things such as moving tips, tape gun, labels and even a dining gift certifi cate . "We offer moving boxes for moving day, and a complimentary one hour dump run and clean up after the move," Roger says . Having learned the trade from his dad, Chris Krahn has been in the concrete and renovation business all his life .One thing Chris and his wife Denise found upon moving to

the Okanagan is that people weren't catering to the small jobs, so they decided to fi ll that gap . In addition to smaller jobs, Chris also does more extensive residential and commercial complete renovation projects ."I started doing work for realtors," Chris explained, "They'd

walk into a house with clients, and the clients would say, 'I love this house, but I'd like hardwood instead' or 'these two rooms are small and I'd like one big bedroom' and that's how I started ." Chris also began doing work for people trying to sell a home . Whether it was a job to improve the curb appeal or to address concerns found during an inspection, realtors were calling on Chris to help their clients .Since then, they've done all kinds of jobs and do their best

crew was working on a custom home just down the street from his own house . Having lived and worked in Peachland for the last 18 years, he's built a strong reputation in the com-munity, and as a result, about 95% of the work he does is right in Peachland ."They're very friendly and nice

people, and great people to work for," Pat says, "we like to

stay local if we can ."Most of his clients have been directed to him by word of

mouth, though Pat is always pleased to supply references . For more information, contact Pat Rose’s Contracting at 250 .878 .3371 .

From retaining walls to ponds to irrigation systems, “if it has to do with landscaping, we do it,” says Journeyman Landscape Horticulturalist Wolfgang Kron .Journeyman Landscape Horticulturalist Wolfgang Kron has

been a landscape contractor for over 20 years . He’s always been passionate about landscaping, even at a very early age . "I was always good at it as a kid . My dad had a vegetable garden and I could always make anything grow in it," Wolf recalls .His green thumb later lead him to complete a BCIT landscape

and horticulture program . For Wolf, landscaping is very reward-ing because when the job is fi nished, the homeowners are always in awe of the transformation . Ask the people at Aaronscapes what they specialize in and they’ll

say they do more retaining walls, ponds, waterfalls, and irrigation than anything else . But there really isn’t a limit to the kinds of landscaping work they’ll perform . They do paving stones, concrete work such as stamped concrete patios, xeroscaping, fencing, trellis work, pergolas, swimming pools, excavating - whatever the hom-eowner requires . A careful consulting, planning and design process ensures the homeowner will always get the result they want . The jobs they do range from average sized yards to acreages, drive-ways to pergolas . “We can do it all, no job is too big or too small for us” Wolf explains . Book early for your free consultation . As they do fi ll up quickly early on in the year .One service they’re doing a lot more of now is the installation

of water conserving irrigation systems . There are a myriad of irrigation options available to help homeowners reduce water consumption (which is especially important now that Peachland-ers are paying for the amount of water they use), and the folks at Aaronscapes also consult with homeowners to make sure

The experts at Aaronscapes Landscaping are yards ahead of the competition

they’re getting the system that’s best for them .“There are different ways of going about it, depending upon

how much the homeowner wants to spend . You could capture rainwater and snow melt under the ground in a big tank . That's probably the most expensive way . The least expensive way is to educate people on how to use their timers properly . You're sav-ing money on your water bill and you're using less water," Wolf explains, “when you are using the irrigation system properly .”Wolf says new technology is coming out now where the under-

ground sensors work much better than they once did . "You've got to keep up to date with everything, because a lot of people don't . Take new technologies for irrigation, for instance . Every year there's something different or better that uses less water ." They install the equipment and provide the homeowner with

education about using it . "We go through the whole system with the homeowner . We'll set up your clock so it only waters when it needs to and show you how to change your clock if there’s a heat wave that requires a bit more watering,” Wolf says . Estimates are always free, and they're committed to backing up

the service they provide, with every job they do . Call Aaronscapes Landscaping for all your landscaping needs .

Topline Exteriors owner Jeff Webster has been roofi ng since he was 17 . When the opportunity presented itself to start his own business, he got on top of it – literally .Since 1996 Jeff has been working in Peachland and has done

literally hundreds of roofs in the community . Most of the work he does involves asphalt shingles on residential homes, but he's done some commercial roofi ng, as well . Jeff provides roofi ng for new constructions as well as re-roofs

for existing structures . While the manufacturer's warranty varies depending on the

shingle, Jeff always offers a 10 year guarantee on workmanship to back up their work .Quality workmanship and dependable service are the reasons

Topline Exteriors has succeeded as a business .Once during a rainstorm, someone in Peachland called Topline

at 10 p .m . and said they had a river coming into their living room . Jeff went out into the storm and tarped up the roof to prevent further damage . Another roofi ng company might not have been so obliging, but that's all part of the service commit-ment that Topline Exteriors provides to their clients . As those people could tell you, if your roof leaks, it can cause

huge damage throughout the house . Besides ruining the con-tents of your home, water can come down and wreck your hardwood fl oors or it can come in and cause mould . Having a solid roof over your head is paramount .Roofi ng can be a dangerous trade, so when considering a roof-

ing contractor, an important point to consider is whether or not the workers are properly insured . "It's important for homeowners to know that they need to

make sure that the contractor they hire has WCB . If something

happens and someone gets hurt and they don't have workers compensation, then the homeowner is on the hook for it," Web-ster explained . "The other thing that homeowners should also be aware of is making sure the contractor has liability insurance . We have $2 million liability insurance ."When Topline gives an estimate, they include a copy of their

WCB and their liability insurance so their clients can be assured that they are fully covered .Topline Exteriors doesn't have a sales team to give estimates .

Jeff does the estimates and the contracting, so their clients al-ways speak to someone who is knowledgeable and experienced with the product .To fi nd out more about how Topline Exteriors can help

with your roofi ng needs, contact Jeff at 250 .212 .0781 or 250 .767 .9565 .

Rex Mitchell began T-Rex Landscaping in Edmonton 11 years ago and then made the move to Peachland in 2002 . Since then, he's never looked back ."I employ all of my staff from Peachland . I shop at the IGA . All

my fuel, all of my supplies I buy in Peachland whenever I can . I'm 100% Peachland-minded," Rex says, "I'm a very big person on community and working for the community ." "Customer service has always been number one and always

will be with me . If I can't supply that, I'll get out of business," Rex says . "That comes down to a lot of not making a lot of money to make the customer happy sometimes, but the customers are always happy ." From landscaping irrigation to sewer connections to small

excavations, Rex does most of his work right in Peachland or in the Westside . "Right now I'm busy doing sewer connections because about 250

of the came up this year," he says, though of course spring is always a busy time for small excavations and irrigation systems, as well . As the focus of his business is in the landscaping, he also builds

some fences and decks . Even though T-Rex Landscaping is a relatively small local business, he's diversifi ed the business to handle a wide range of projects . "These days you have to do everything," Rex says .But whether it's landscaping irrigation, sewer connections, small

excavations or decks, Rex is committed to getting the job done right .
