TRANSCRIPT
Every European believer, pastor, local and national church be involved in fulfilling the Great
Commission
The role of PEM is to serve the Pentecostal churches and movements in Europe by:
◦ Empowering them for world missions
◦ Engaging in world missions activities under its structure as agreed upon by its members.
Promote the fulfilment of the Great Commission by mobilizing all PEF member churches to reach the whole world with the whole gospel.
Be a dynamic mission motivator, coordinator,
instructor and implementer to empower the European Pentecostal churches for global missions.
◦ Unity
We strive for unity in Christ, cooperating in cross-cultural partnerships, respecting our partners, to fulfil the Great Commission.
◦ Value of every individual from the divine perspective
We act in love towards every individual regardless of their ethnic background, religion, or gender, recognizing their temporal and eternal value. (John 3,16)
◦ Holism
We serve to meet the entire scope of human needs – spiritual, physical and emotional.
◦ Truthfulness
We want to be real, transparent, trustworthy, accountable, and stand for truth as revealed in the Bible, God’s Word.
◦ General call
The fulfilment of the Great Commission is the responsibility of every member of the church.
◦ Leadership of the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the initiator and leader of mission activities. We look to Him for guidance in all we do.
◦ The Bible is our basis and Jesus is the only saviour and way to God
The Bible defines our criteria for mission.
◦ Cultural diversity
We act in a culturally sensitive way in multinational contexts.
◦ Transforming societies
We want to be visible and inclusive towards the society in our activities.
◦ Networking / partnering
We work in partnership with the church where it exists, especially with national Pentecostal movements and churches.
◦ Emphasis on the unreached
We want to reach those who have never heard the gospel.
◦ Multiplication
We endeavour to see our ministries and established activities multiplied.
◦ Establishing strong indigenous churches
We want to follow the four-self principle:
Self-governing, self-supporting, self-propagating, and self-theologising
The indigenous church is not to be led, governed, financed, nor is its practical theology to be decided from outside.
◦ Including all age groups from children to seniors
Missions training and programmes are provided for all age groups: children, youth, adults, and the elderly.
◦ Welfare of the involved people
We give attention to member care of missionaries, education of their children, and welfare of the PEM office and other workers.
◦ Prayer and discerning God’s will
◦ Empowerment
◦ Effective networking and cooperation synergy Excellent and up-to-date
communication with and Europe-wide links to the local church
