CABA offers a range of professional and personal development training led by highly experienced wellbeing practitioners. The training is designed to meet the needs of past and present ICAEW members, ACA students and their immediate family.

WORKSHOPSWorkshops can last anywhere from 90 minutes to a full day and are delivered to groups of 12 to 30 people. The format is highly interactive and designed to provide both theory and practical takeaways. All of our workshops can be adapted to meet the needs of the audience and to suit a range of groups from ACA students through to those approaching retirement.

SEMINARSSeminars are provided as part of a larger event such as a conference or large team meeting. Running from 30 minutes to an hour, they provide a presentation on the key aspects of a topic and a few practical ideas to help delegates improve their wellbeing.

ELIGIBILITYAll of our workshops and seminars are free of charge. However, in order to meet CABA’s charitable objects, we require at least 12 delegates or 50% of the group to be eligible members (a past or present ICAEW member, ACA student or immediate family), whichever is greater.

We currently offer over 25 inspiring workshops; each of these can be delivered in 90 minutes, 3 hours or full day sessions. They’re engaging, flexible and interactive and have been developed to improve the health and wellbeing of delegates.

Effective listening is a skill that underpins all positive human relationships. Listening entails more than that just hearing the words, it requires focus and being aware of both verbal and non-verbal messages.

This workshop will introduce individuals to the skill of active listening and provides the space needed to consider the importance of effective listening and the opportunity to practice in a safe environment.

Learning outcomes include:

• Exploring the importance of listening well

• Understanding the impact of distracted listening

• Learning the skills needed for active listening

Research shows that yoga has a wide range of benefits for an individual’s physical and mental wellbeing.

This practical workshop gives individuals the opportunity to learn about the key benefits yoga can provide. It will cover how meditation and breathing techniques can help to alleviate physical and psychological difficulties, and includes a short yoga sequence individuals can do at home no matter how busy they are.

Learning outcomes include:

• Identifying the physical and psychological benefits of regular practice of yoga and meditation

• Learning yoga stretches and postures to decrease tension in the body

• Exploring simple meditations to help relieve stress and increase relaxation

Learning outcomes include:

• Applying short practical mindfulness tools and techniques to help individuals manage strong emotions, improve productivity and working relationships

This informative workshop will introduce the topic of mental wellbeing. It will help to build awareness of how individuals can encourage mental wellbeing and support themselves and colleagues both in and outside of the workplace.

• Understanding mental health and the triggers that can lead to poor mental health

• Recognising the signs and early indicators of distress

• Identifying practical tools and tips to support someone in distress

• Learning to look after an individual’s mental health in a proactive way

A good night’s sleep is linked with an array of health benefits from effective recovery from illness, increasing focus at work and better mental wellbeing.

This workshop explores a range of ideas and activities to help promote both the quality and quantity of an individual’s sleep. It provides an opportunity to put a plan in place that helps to create ideal sleep conditions which in turn should improve individual’s sleep, energy levels and performance.

• Determining issues associated with sleep challenges

• Understanding how to wake feeling refreshed and energised

• Exploring ways to switch off from distractions and wind down from busy days

Resilience is the ability to be able to bounce back from adversity and remain calm and focused during times of pressure, change and setbacks.

This interactive workshop explores how individuals can maximise their resilience in order to work to their full potential. It provides an opportunity to create an individual plan to help cope more effectively with setbacks and challenges both in and outside of the workplace.

Learning outcomes include:

• Recognising the difference between pressure and stress

• Understanding the foundations of resilience

• Exploring a range of tools and techniques that will help to boost resilience levels

This workshop explores the science of happiness and what does and doesn’t make a difference to our wellbeing. It will introduce the science and practice of wellbeing and sample some of the scientifically grounded tools that raise the bar on happiness.

• Identifying the different forms of happiness

• Designing an action plan for individuals to grow their own happiness and wellbeing

• Helping individuals to gain a greater understanding of their strengths, including what gives their life meaning and purpose
