Bentley Enlivens Reality Modeling through Acquisition of e-on Software

14 September 2015

Bentley Systems, Incorporated today announced that it has acquired e-on software, a leader in the creation, simulation, and integration of natural 3D environments, with software development based in Paris, France. E-on software is widely acclaimed in the digital content creation (DCC) market, where its VUE and PlantFactory products are a mainstay among computer graphics (CG) professionals in the media and entertainment, science, and education industries. E-on’s offerings have been used in the making of numerous blockbuster films, including Minions, Jupiter Ascending, How To Train Your Dragon,Avatar, The Hunger Games, The Avengers, Hugo, and Terminator. Headed by founder Nicholas Phelps, e-on software, operating as a Bentley subsidiary, will continue to develop innovative solutions for the unique challenges of the DCC community.

Phelps said, “For over 20 years, I have dedicated e-on software to creating and supporting the best digital nature solutions. While initially only focused on serving the media and entertainment industry, we recognized in recent years a growing need among architects and engineers to ‘tell their story’ in a more compelling way. We responded to this by leveraging our expertise in visual effects to also create easy-to-use products such as LumenRT that bring quick, high-quality ‘movie production’ to the architectural and engineering market.

“I am thrilled to join Bentley Systems to explore and extend these avenues together. Bentley is a

fantastic company that shares our passion for technological excellence. It will be a great home for e-on software to thrive in. We gain access to a highly qualified user base, substantial resources, and new distribution channels that will allow us to walk boldly into the future and produce ever more exciting and versatile natural environment simulation and integration products, putting Hollywood movie quality into the hands of engineers and artists alike, around the world!” Bentley Systems CEO Greg Bentley said, “With our acquisition of e-on software, reality modeling for architects and engineers to capture existing conditions and provide context for proposed infrastructure designs can now be enlivened with digital nature. The natural world is the backdrop for all infrastructure projects and, as individuals, we all experience elements such as trees, skies, and terrains as being intrinsically vital to our quality of life. With the ‘cinematic’ quality of LumenRT environments, every architect and engineer can envision and present his or her proposed design alternatives as they would be experienced in actual operation in nature.” In 2014, e-on’s LumenRT software achieved a breakthrough in enabling “live” natural environments to be easily incorporated within the work of infrastructure engineers for improved “real-time” design context and for stakeholder communications with life-like qualities. Bentley users are already benefiting from the integration of LumenRT’s capabilities with Bentley’s MicroStation-based common modeling environment for advancing infrastructure. David Burdick, formerly e-on vice president of marketing and now Bentley Systems industry executive, visualization, said, “With LumenRT, users can enliven their designs with a full complement of environmental elements such as moving people, breeze-animated plants, rippling water, windy skies, and man-made objects such as vehicle simulations and traffic. The ability to couple Bentley’s infrastructure solutions with LumenRT provides an unsurpassed ability to craft more environmentally coherent designs while streamlining the ability to communicate winning design stories to all stakeholders.” Bentley Systems Executive Vice President Ray Bentley said, “I have spent my working career advancing the quality of 3D representations of infrastructure. But there’s always been something missing – the ability to immerse designs within their dynamic context and natural environments, conveying their operational and aesthetic qualities. With LumenRT and our recent acquisition of Acute3D ‘context capture’ software – which automatically generates 3D reality meshes from digital photographs – we can now enable all of our users to readily take advantage of ‘enlivened’ reality modeling!” VUE products enable VFX studios, animators, architects, matte painters, and CG professionals to create exceptionally rich and realistic digital nature environments. VUE provides all the tools required to efficiently model and animate synthesized natural 3D environments. It is a flexible and versatile package designed to integrate seamlessly with all production workflows. VUE xStream can be used directly inside of all leading 3D software packages, including 3ds Max, Maya, Softimage, LightWave, and CINEMA 4D. Scott Brisbane, senior matte painter, Weta Digital, said, “VUE is one of the most artist-friendly tools I’ve ever used. It has become an essential package in the environment creation workflow I have developed over 10 years of production on films like Avatar, How to Train Your Dragon, and The Croods.” Jean-Denis Coindre, matte painter at Universal Pictures - Illumination Mac Guff, said while using VUE on the film Minions, “No other software can create natural environments in full 3D as

quickly and fluidly as VUE does! It’s a very versatile and impressive piece of software. It would be totally insane to even try doing what VUE does in any other tool!” PlantFactory products are dedicated to the accurate modeling of dynamic, wind-animated plants. They produce versatile results that are used both in the DCC and architectural and engineering markets. Frederic Bec, landscape architect, said, “As a landscape architect, I find PlantFactory to be a fantastic tool! I can show my clients what their projects will look like in any season throughout the year, or what they’ll be like in 10 years.”

Ivoclar Vivadent Leads CAD/CAM Block Market in Europe as Zirconia Products Rise in Popularity 15 September 2015 According to a new report on 15 European markets for dental prosthetics and CAD/CAM devices by iData Research (www.idataresearch.com), the CAD/CAM block market in Europe is developing new materials that are constantly being introduced and tested. One new trend is the introduction of translucent zirconia blocks, which are more tooth-like and pre-colored. These blocks are significantly more expensive than their non-colored counterparts for aesthetic and durability reasons. However, lithium disilicate blocks such as the IPS e.max® by Ivoclar Vivadent, are dominating the block market due to high demand. More competitor products are also emerging in this field, including VITA ENAMIC® by VITA, which is the first hybrid ceramic crown made part-polymer, part-ceramic. Due to this competition, the price for ceramic blocks is expected to decline, whereas the price of zirconia blocks has already reached a plateau. In 2014, the market for CAD/CAM blocks in Europe surpassed EUR88 million, representing a 10% increase over the previous year. The market has been suffering from significant price declines in zirconia blocks due to the effects of the Euro-zone crisis, yet still grew due to a significant increase in unit sales, a phenomenon that will continue over the next few years. "Technological developments as well as material types will drive the market forward, increasing both demand and competition," explains Dr. Kamran Zamanian, CEO of iData. "As more dentists and laboratories switch to CAD/CAM production, the blocks will follow suit as an expanding market." The introduction of full contour zirconia has contributed to growth in the zirconia segment. Glidewell Laboratories' BruxZir® full contour zirconia translucent style blocks have led the recent increase of sales of zirconia CAD/CAM blocks. This material is gaining popularity in Europe; other companies, such as VITA, have been introducing their own versions of "translucent zirconia," which will boost the demand for zirconia restorations. However, porcelain material is expected to cannibalize some zirconia sales, as technological improvements produce stronger and more durable porcelains such as lithium silicates and glass ceramics. The rising popularity of porcelain restorations has been led by Ivoclar Vivadent's IPS e.max® full contour lithium disilicate blocks. By 2021, porcelain blocks are expected to surpass zirconia in unit sales.

Ivoclar Vivadent, the leading competitor of the CAD/CAM market in Europe, accounted for nearly 40% of the market share in 2014. The company gained market share due to the popularity of its IPS e.max® lithium disilicate full-contour blocks. However, the increase in IPS e.max® sales was at the expense of the company's own IPS Empress® blocks. VITA is licensed to manufacture CAD/CAM blocks for Sirona. In 2014, the company held roughly 25% share of the CAD/CAM block market in Europe. The company's line of VITABLOCS® CAD/CAM blocks is also compatible with other milling units such as B&D Dental Technologies' ORIGIN® system, making it a more appealing product for dentists. Other notable competitors in the CAD/CAM block market include 3M ESPE, Wieland Dental, B&D Dental Technologies, Dentsply, Glidewell Laboratories, KaVo, Metoxit, and Sirona among others.

ZWSOFT is glad to announce that its Korean partner, ZWCAD Korea, successfully finished a user review campaign, with over 70 thorough user reviews collected from a wide range of industries to reaffirm that ZWCAD is among the most popular and widely-accepted CAD programs in Korea. Today ZWSOFT would like to share the first prize review from Mr. Lee Wangje, a sophisticated architect with over 20 years of CAD experience, who chose ZWCAD for its functionality and cost-effectiveness. Before deciding to introduce ZWCAD to his company, Mr. Lee had run multiple tests, mainly on its compatibility and performance. Compatibility was tested in three aspects, namely its file format compatibility, external resources compatibility and compatibility with different versions. “The results of the compatibility tests are very satisfying,” Mr. Lee commented. “ZWCAD can not only fully support many different formats like .dwg and .dwt, but also work smoothly with external resources like external references. Other versions are also fully supported -- there is no problem in opening and editing drawings that have been created using other versions.” “When it comes to switching to other CAD programs, many designers would be reluctant to accept it,” Mr. Lee said. “But switching to ZWCAD is not even a problem. It has a very similar UI and commands to AutoCAD. Speed is another big advantage that should be stressed in ZWCAD. The installation package of ZWCAD is smaller than other CAD software which largely lowers requirements for computer configurations and takes up less memory. Because of these, it runs very fast when it comes to opening and saving drawings and saves a lot of time processing large-sized drawings. Still speed is also reflected in printing drawings -- ZWCAD can export and print drawings really fast, which also increases efficiency a lot.” “I first heard of ZWCAD in 2000. Honestly I didn’t expect much from ZWCAD, because the market was dominated by AutoCAD in Korea,” said Mr. Lee. “But looking at the data from all kinds of rigid tests and users’ positive feedback, I am impressed by the high performance of ZWCAD, and I really think I made the right choice.”

Event News Delcam to show 2016 FeatureCAM and PowerMILL at Salon Industriel de l’Estrie 14 September 2015

Delcam Canada will demonstrate the 2016 releases of Delcam’s FeatureCAM feature-based programming system and its PowerMILL CAM system for high-speed and five-axis machining at the Salon Industriel de l’Estrie in Sherbrooke, Quebec, on 23rd and 24th September. The 2016 release of FeatureCAM includes a number of enhancements to the Vortex high-efficiency area-clearance strategy. Vortex gives the fastest safe metal removal from solid carbide tooling, in particular designs that give deeper cuts by using the full flute length as the cutting surface. It produces toolpaths with a controlled engagement angle and so maintains the optimum cutting conditions for the complete roughing cycle, giving faster machining and longer tool life. The ability has now been added to adjust and fine tune the non-cutting moves of 2.5D and 3D Vortex toolpaths, with options to retract the tool and/or to increase the feedrate. These options can be set individually, or can be combined to achieve an optimum toolpath, with a reduced cycle time. Other enhancements in the 2016 release include support for bar-fed mills, more efficient turning and

user-interface improvements to make programming even easier and faster, in particular when using multiple set-ups. The main enhancement in PowerMILL 2016 is the ability to mirror complete machining projects in one operation and to maintain automatically the machining characteristics, for example to specify automatically whether climb or conventional milling should be used in each section of the toolpath. Previously, only individual toolpaths could be mirrored. Automatic mirroring saves considerable time whenever right- and left-hand versions are needed of a part or tool. It will also be faster to program the machining of symmetrical objects since it will be possible to program one half and then mirror the toolpaths to complete the program. Simulation in PowerMILL has been improved with ability to simulate complex tool changes, an auto-translucency option that will allow viewing of the table attach point at all times, and the ability to draw translucently the safe areas for rapid moves.

Vero’s Powerful Solutions To Keep Midi-Pyrénées Boom Going 17 September 2015

Three game-changing Vero Software CAD/CAM brands will be on show at the Siane 2015 trade fair in Toulouse, France, between October 20 and 22. The Midi-Pyrénées region is currently experiencing an economic boom, especially in the aeronautic and aerospace sectors which employ 75,000 people at 550 companies. As well as those two industries, the Siane show also attracts representatives from other fields, including automotive, medical and electronics. Samantha Mayet, Vero’s Marketing Co-ordinator in France, says this makes the exhibition a perfect showcase for the latest releases of Edgecam, VISI and WorkNC. “Quality is of paramount importance for aeronautic, automotive and medical components to meet special technological challenges specific to these industries. For example, the use of lightweight composite

materials or extremely hard alloys, machining of very complex forms, milling and turning very large parts, removal of large amounts of material on structural parts, and machining parts featuring very thin walls.” Edgecam, VISI and WorkNC’s powerful functions offer solutions to all these requirements, and will be on show at Vero’s booth: V46, in Hall 6. The latest version of Edgecam, the leading CAM solution for milling in the serial production field and in multi-axis turning, offers a wide range of CAD and CAM improvements concerning milling, turning and wire EDM such as multi-spindle turning, a new 5-axis manifold machining module and time savings on drilling cycles. New features include the integration of M & H probes, threading simulation, a new machine configuration allowing turning operations on a milling centre, and the addition of CAD links for Creo Parametric files, along with turning management of the central axis counter spindle offset. WorkNC, the CAD/CAM solution for 2- through to 5-axis machining, is renowned for reliability and safe toolpaths thanks to all-inclusive collision verifications which take into account the cutting tool, the tool holder and full machine simulation including kinematics. WorkNC V24 is aimed at improving CAM operator productivity along with machining quality. The new 'Rest Material Display' function, a genuine analysis tool, is a valuable aid for programmers looking to reduce preparation times. It allows rapid evaluation of the different thicknesses of material that remains to be machined on the model, indicated by a user defined colour code. On large models and extremely complex geometries, it is now simple to determine the small areas and pockets that still need to be machined. Other innovative functions include symmetry commands, reading hole features from native NX files, faster collision detection calculations covering the machining environment, the tool holder, the stock model and the milling machine itself, along with new STL file processing functions. VISI is a leading solution for mould and tooling design thanks to its powerful hybrid modeler capable of handling solid, surface and wireframe entities. VISI has always been at the forefront of managing large volumes of CAD data. Visitors to booth V46 in Hall 6 at the Siane trade fair will be able to see improvements made to key functions allowing components to be modified quicker and more efficiently. The cooling system now automatically notifies and manages all CAD transformation commands in VISI Mould; and time is saved in VISI Progress by being able to see modifications to the original part, automatically on the strip without having to rebuild it. In VISI Machining, a new 3-axis 64 bit engine ensures that users can exploit the full power of their PC, while 2.5-axis benefits from an improved mill function after the clearance pass, along with improved linking on pocket operations when using In to Out step-over, and reduced calculation times for facemill, pocket, mill and remachining operations. And an enhanced migration tool, executed at the end of the VISI 2016 R1 installation process, provides an automatic settings/configurations update from previous releases. Visitors to the Vero booth will also be able to meet Edgecam, VISI and WorkNC’s recently appointed Sales Engineer, Pierre AUGUSTIN, who is covering the south west area of France (Languedoc Rousillon, Midi-Pyrénées, Aquitaine, Limousin and Poitoux Charentes). In addition a Hexagon Metrology 'Romer Absolute Arm Compact' measuring arm will be shown on the

ESI Group: Results for the 1st Half of 2015 18 September 2015

Alain de Rouvray, ESI Group’s Chairman and CEO, comments: "The solid performance in the first half-year shows the widening adoption of ESI Group's Virtual Prototyping solutions and reflects the transformation of leading industrial firms to the smart digital factory. This structural trend drives strong growth of Licenses, particularly in the installed base, and is indicative of the strength of ESI's industry standard solutions and the Group's robust business model. The restructured Services division, although held back by some cyclical effects, posted healthy growth in high value added engineering studies which eventually lead on to recurrent License sales. The cost control policy also delivered further substantial improvements to profitability without reducing the R&D investment which is core to the Group's development strategy. Notably, ESI Group continues to differentiate itself clearly from its competition by technological innovation and adoption of disruptive technologies, including those represented in recently acquired activities. The unique positioning of ESI's solutions in the future markets for Virtual Engineering, coupled with high-performing strategic international partnerships, amplifies the solidity of the Group's activity and enables us to look ahead with confidence over the short and medium term." Revenues for the 1st half of 2015 amounted to €48.4 million, a healthy 13.6% growth in actual terms (+6.0% at constant exchange rates). This strong performance reflects the dynamism of the Licensing activity and was helped by currency movements over the period, mainly in the US dollar, Japanese yen and Korean won. Recent acquisitions mainly concerned technologies requiring further development and their revenue impact was therefore limited at this stage to €0.1 million. The product mix shifted toward Licensing activity, which accounted for 71.7% of revenues compared to 69.6% in the 1st half of 2014. Licenses revenue recorded annual sales of €34.7 million, a strong increase of 17% at actual rates (+8.8% at constant exchange rates) driven by the remarkable 26.9% increase in repeat business in the installed base (+17.1% at constant exchange rates). The rate of repeat business was a massive 94.7% at actual rates (87.4% at constant exchange rates compared to 76% in the 1st half of 2014). New Business fell back by -8.1% at actual rates (-12.9% at constant exchange rates) hampered by cyclical effects, including the still difficult environment in Russia. The excellent performance of IC.IDO has to be highlighted as it has been adopted not only in traditional areas such as Ground Transportation and Aerospace but also in Heavy Industry such as Kubota for its loaders.

Services revenue was €13.7 million, up by +5.6% at actual exchange rates (-0.6% at constant exchange

rates). The success of engineering studies, the core of ESI Group's business, where revenues rose by +19.4% (+11.9% at constant rates), reflected the continued refocus on high expertise, high value added projects, particularly in Japan, France, Germany and the US. This structural trend was, however, masked by declines in sales of other services evident in the 2nd quarter. Over the period the geographical distribution of revenues in actual currency shifted toward Asia (41.1% vs. 40.2%) and the Americas (20.4% vs. 17.1%), and away from Europe (38.5% vs. 42.7%) where sales were held back by Russia. These trends, albeit amplified by the fall in the euro against the US dollar and Asian currencies, reflect very strong License sales at constant exchange rates; up by an impressive 24% in the USA and 26% in China. At actual exchange rates, activity in BRIC countries contributed 12.2% of revenues compared to 13.3% in the prior year period as growth in China and India was offset by the still difficult environment in Russia.

Delcam launches 2016 FeatureCAM with new high-efficiency roughing 16 September 2015

Delcam has launched the 2016 release of its FeatureCAM feature-based CAM software. This includes a range of enhancements, in particular more options for the Vortex high-efficiency area-clearance strategy, support for bar-fed mills, more efficient turning and user-interface improvements to make programming even easier and faster. Full details on the new release, including video demonstrations of the main enhancements, are on the FeatureCAM Learning Zone – www.delcam.tv/fc2016/lz FeatureCAM was the world’s first feature-based programming software when it was launched in 1995. Constant development since then has ensured that the system has retained its leadership in programming speed and ease of use, while an increased range of strategies has been added to provide more efficient toolpaths that give greater productivity on a wider range of machinery, including mill-turn machines, five-axis mills and wire EDM equipment. The 2016 release includes a number of enhancements to the Vortex area-clearance strategy. These options can be set

individually, or can be combined to achieve an optimum toolpath, with a reduced cycle time. Other roughing improvements include the ability to take into account any remaining stock on the model during holder collision checking, ensuring that Z-level roughing toolpaths are completely free of tool-holder collisions. Milling of inside or outside groove features has been upgraded with a number of improvements. These include support for different types of roughing links, wind-fan approach and retract moves for finishing, better gouge checking for plunges and retracts, and tool radius and partline cutter compensation support. Support has been added to FeatureCAM for multi-tasking bar-fed milling machines, such as the Mazak Integrex I150, and the Willemen-Macodel 408T and 508T. Access to the back of the component is possible with an option to set the swivel angle of the machine, with additional cut-off operations now available that use milling tools. Five-axis swarf machining has been made more flexible with a new option to control the upper and lower Z limits of a simultaneous five-axis swarf toolpath. This is useful if there are limitations on the tool length that can be used or if the stepdown needs to be varied for different segments of the toolpath. For users of FeatureTURN, the selection of turning tools has been simplified with the ability to use a single tool in multiple orientations. This new automatic tool orientation categorises tooling into either outside-diameter or inside-diameter turning tools, so shortening the time taken to program parts and reducing the number of different tools required in the tool crib. In addition, the engage angle can now be set for the lead-in approach move. By controlling the approach move in this way, smoother chip formation and lower cutting forces can be achieved. FeatureCAM now allows the quick import and alignment of a variety of pre-defined vices and chucks into a machining project. The result is increased productivity, not only due to the speed of programming but also because collision checking is provided automatically during simulation. Used in combination with PowerSHAPE, FeatureCAM now allows machining files to be selected and nested automatically in a single block to optimise stock material usage. Interface improvements include the ability to create additional setups quickly during FeatureRECOGNITION, via a new button in the Feature Wizard. This reduces the overall programming time significantly. In addition, items within the part view are now highlighted when the cursor hovers over them. At the same time, the items are also highlighted in the graphics screen, making it easier to find and select the desired items quickly. Finally, Autodesk RealDWG has now been integrated into FeatureCAM, bringing with it increases in the speed of import of DWG files and support for DWG solid model import.

ProPlus Design Solutions Unveils Innovative Design Environment to Bridge Circuit Design, CAD and Process Development 15 September 2015

ProPlus Design Solutions, Inc. today unveiled MEPro, within its own Nano Design Environment (NDE), that bridges circuit design, CAD and process development, and lets designers quickly adopt and make full use of a process platform.

For the first time, MEPro offers a common platform for circuit design, CAD and process development teams, presented in ways each of them are familiar with. They now are able to systematically evaluate any device or circuit target of one or multiple process platforms with SPICE model libraries, avoiding model misuse while leaving increased area for design margins.

The product, designed for greater efficiency of flow setup and job execution, improves a designer's understanding of devices and processes, through systematic evaluation and benchmarking of process platforms at the device or circuit level. More important, MEPro will show the impact of these evaluation and benchmarking results on circuit designs, providing further guidance or assistance to improve them.

Improved design competitiveness and shortened time to market deliver economic factors to design teams. Additionally, design teams installing MEPro will be able to fully leverage the built-in full parallel computing power of MEPro without the need for a SPICE simulator license, and run more complete evaluation and benchmarking jobs faster.

"Nano Design Environment is the missing piece to merge circuit design and process development," says Dr. Zhihong Liu, chairman and chief executive officer of ProPlus Design Solutions. "We applied our vast knowledge and expertise on SPICE modeling and circuit simulations, and a heavy investment to create the first tool of its kind in the industry. Our goal is to help designers understand and correlate design, device and process, and quickly adopt and capably use a process platform for their designs. It will also help companies assess how a new process, such as FinFET or FDSOI, will benefit them." Introducing Nano Design Environment's MEPro The ProPlus MEPro has a comprehensive set of device library exploration, model validation, device and

process evaluation and benchmarking features. It can be used to explore SPICE model libraries for full device characteristics, evaluate any device or circuit targets at any and/or all operation conditions to assist designs, and verify device behavior, model accuracy and quality. It also can be used to compare and benchmark process platforms from different foundries, process nodes, or process revisions, or assist designers select the most optimum devices based on their design criteria. Additionally, the evaluation results such as new target specifications can be feedback to the process development team for process retargeting also done within MEPro. In the past, CAD, design and process teams worked separately using different languages or disciplines. Designers had to wait for updated tables, specifications and models before re-design with each revision of the process. With MEPro, designers or CAD supporting teams do not need to spend days or weeks creating templates and generating books of tables for evaluation and benchmarking jobs. MEPro offers pre-configured projects with hundreds of check items and efficiency improvements through a built-in parallel SPICE simulation engine and parallelization technologies. Users do not need to be model or device experts and easily can adopt the tool to evaluate a process platform and device performance with an intuitive graphic user interface. The configuration and execution of an evaluation or benchmarking project can be done in a fraction of the time that one would need without MEPro, with more complete coverage than most current practices. Results can be shared and browsed or re-organized interactively by all co-workers. MEPro works on 32- and 64-bit Unix, Linux and Windows operating systems, and runs on multi-core computer servers or distributed computing farms.

Zuken – Better product enclosure fit with True 3D component shapes 15 September 2015

Using True 3D, Zuken helps product designers meet the challenges of today’s ever-smaller and complex enclosures, with 3D clearance analysis using true component shapes. True 3D checks of multi-board designs can be carried out against all aspects of a product, including the enclosure. This latest version of Zuken’s CR-8000 single and multi-board design solution also includes improved accuracy in layer configuration design work through transfer of layer configuration data between CR-8000 Design Force and Polar Instruments Speedstack. Zuken’s CR-8000 is the industry’s only next-generation, product-centric design solution for creating complex product designs. CR-8000 Design Force enables design teams to easily create any design from quick prototype boards to complex, multi-board systems using a single tool, says the company. Bob Potock, vice president of marketing, Zuken Americas, said: “Successful companies build more competitive products faster and with lower risk. Next generation products will require those same companies to shift from PCB-centric to product-centric design practices to remain competitive. CR-8000 is leading the way in product-centric design and the 2015.1 release will strengthen our customers’ competitive positions with the addition of true 3D product-centric capabilities.” Clearance analysis to the true component shape – As manufacturers push to fit boards in ever-smaller spaces, enclosures become more complex and achieving a good product fit gets harder. It is estimated that up to 50% of prototypes need to be reworked at the manufacturing stage because of a fit problem creating significant project risk in terms of cost and time for product designers. To help meet this challenge, CR-8000 Design Force now allows users to perform even more accurate 3D checks by using a true 3D component model with a precisely-matched 3D shape, rather than simply using a shape defined by a boundary box. Accurate shape parts can be used for collision checks and 3D clearance checks. This ability to check the enclosure early and continuously in the design process supports better collaboration between the electrical and mechanical design teams, eliminating the silo effect and reducing time to market and design iterations. Detail board stackup design and specification – Layer configuration data can now be transferred
