PointsPlus Pedometer: Quick Start Guide 1 2 3 4 ACTIVATE YOUR PEDOMETER We use a clear plastic tab to make the battery inactive during shipment, so you can get started with a nice, fresh battery. However, this means that you’ll have to remove that tab to get started. To remove the tab, pull back the clip hinge to expose the battery compartment door on the back of your pedometer. Next, unscrew it using a coin. Remove the plastic tab from under the battery and place the battery back into position (positive side up), and tighten the door using the coin. INTRODUCE YOURSELF TO YOUR PEDOMETER Your pedometer will automatically prompt you to provide it with information. Use the + and – buttons to scroll through the options, and then press the UPDATE button to select the options that are correct. FIRST, let your pedometer know your: – Language (French or English?) – Preferred units of measure (Imperial is inches, yards, and miles; Metric is centimetres, metres and kilometres) – Gender, height and weight NEXT, your pedometer will automatically recommend an average stride length, which it calculates based on the info you’ve already entered. We recommend that you simply select the provided stride length by pressing UPDATE. FINALLY, set the time and date. Because the pedometer resets every night at midnight so you can start each day with a fresh start towards your daily steps target, be certain to accurately set the clock with AM or PM displayed correctly or your pedometer will reset at midday instead of midnight. You only have to go through these steps once, and then you’re set to go! PUT YOUR PEDOMETER ON The loop on the security leash simply loops around the belt clip, which opens when you push down on its springer end. Clip your pedometer onto your belt or waistband, using the clip on the back of the unit for extra security. START WALKING! Keep your pedometer on all day; let it track every step for you. To scroll through and review your data the pedometer tracks — steps taken, activity PointsPlus values earned, distance walked, and more — press the DATA button. If you ever want to pause it — when you’re driving, for example — just press and hold the PAUSE button for two seconds. To resume tracking, press the PAUSE button again.
