El Dr. Serna afirma que en la poblacin estadounidense se presentan de 1 a 3 casos por 1000 pacientes/ao, esto quiere decir que aparecen 550,000 nuevos casos/ao.

En Colombia, de acuerdo con el sistema de informacin del Ministerio de la Proteccin Social, esta patologa es la causa del 6% de las hospitalizaciones en adultos, un 7% de las consultas al servicio de urgencias.La tasa de mortalidad por causa de las enfermedades cardiovasculares es de 113.4 casos por 100 mil habitantes

AUTOCUIDADO:En la revisin bibliogrfica realizada, se encontr que la mayora de los pacientes en diferentes estudios, se encuentran en un autocuidado medio, es decir, que no lleva a cabo todas las indicaciones y acciones dadas por el profesional de salud.De igual forma, promueve el autocuidado, pues genera la capacidad en el individuo para que se haga participe en el proceso del cuidado de su salud, por medio del discernimiento que hace sobre los factores que deben ser controlados por s mismo, saber cmo regularlos o controlarlos y realizar acciones definitorias.

De manera que la motivacin definida como la probabilidad de que una persona comience y contine adhirindose a una determinada estrategia de cambio y por tanto tambin al tratamiento, es un pilar importante en el momento de incentivar el autocuidado en las personas con insuficiencia cardiaca, puesto que ello contribuye al mantenimiento de la salud, prevencin de complicaciones y/o descompensaciones, y cumplimiento del tratamiento mdico. la institucin de salud de cuarto nivel donde se realizar el estudio, tendr como beneficio el reconocimiento, ir un paso ms adelante que otras, ya que pueden utilizar la Entrevista Motivacional como una nueva herramienta en el futuro para aumentar el autocuidado en los pacientes que se encuentran hospitalizados en dicha institucin.

Cuantos pacientes no tuvieron cambios en el nivel de autocuidado, teniendo en cuenta la reduccin de 7 puntos. 25CONCLUSIONSStating that 0.0207 < 0.05 is possible to reject the null hypothesis and conclude that Motivational Interviewing as a nursing intervention to promote self-care in patients with Heart Failure in a fourth level hospital, in Bogot, is effective.

The support network was considered as a protective factor when promoting self-care in patients with Heart Failure, as well as the family support to help strengthen practices.

Further research on MI implementation in a longer time tracking to assess the effectiveness on the intervention over time.
