AQUATICS For over 135 years the YMCA has set the standard for quality swim instruction. Take to the water for fun and fitness. Classes are divided into ability groups and trained instructors emphasize personal safety, swimming skills, endurance and social skills. Kids & adults learn about techniques while building friendships, developing self-esteem and creating positive experiences that will last a lifetime!
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE We are proud to present the Ashley Carole
Burbee Memorial Scholarship to children whose
families qualify for financial assistance for swim
lessons. This scholarship is for 3 consecutive
months of swim lessons for children who wouldn't otherwise
have the opportunity to learn this life-saving skill. Ashley Burbee
was the Head Lifeguard at the Portage Township YMCA in 2008,
when she tragically lost her life in a vehicle accident. Her family
and the Y wish for her love of aquatics to live on through her
memorial fund and the scholarships provided to kids in Portage.
