Hello, everyone! This is our
very special and long
awaited edition. We hope it
will be the first of many to
come.
It is with great motivation
that we embrace this new
and thrilling project, PAPI
(Plano de Acção para o
Inglês).
Throughout this year, our
Estudo Acompanhado
classes have been gaining
new life and new colours
with different and stimulating
activities, carefully planned
taking into account our
students’ needs. After all,
learning English can be
funtastic!
In this first edition, we get to
know some of our school
members, take a peak at the
most exciting events and have
fun with amazing activities!
TO ALL OF OUR STUDENTS, WHO
WORK HARD AND TEACH US
VALUABLE LESSONS EVERY DAY,
THANK YOU!
The teachers,
Anabela Silva
Ana Trigueiros
Felismina Moura
Henriqueta Silva
Rosa Morais
Sílvia Florêncio

What’s your job?
I'm a teacher.
What time do you usually get up?
I usually get up at a quarter to eight.
What do you eat for beakfast?
I usually eat milk and bread.
How do you come to school?
I always come to school by car.
Where do you have lunch?
Well, it depends but lately I usually have lunch at the school canteen.
Do you have time for extra-activities? What kind of activities?
Well, not much... with school work and two sons (7 and 2 years old) it's
almost impossible to have any free time. During the holidays I enjoy
reading.
Do you like watching TV? What's your favourite TV programme?
You may not believe me but at home we usually watch "Canal Panda" and
"Sic K". It's my children's choice...
Do you like working at our library?
I love it!
What’s your favourite book?
Well, the books of my life were "Os Maias" and "Uma Família Inglesa" but
there are other books that were also very important for me: "A Casa dos
Espíritos", "A Insustentável Leveza do Ser" and "Equador".
What’s your favourite author?
It's Isabel Allende.
What do you think about our project PAPI?
I think having the opportunity to develop your speaking abilities is great!
Writing is important too, of course, but oral communication is much more.
At least that's what I believe. There's a private school in Braga that has a
similar project (1 hour per week for "Speaking lesson"), so it's fantastic
that our public school is doing the same.
What do you think about our school and our students?
I think that our school is always "alive" with new projects for you
students to obtain the best school results. About our students, I think that
you are lovely: kind, gentle... I only ask you to study a little more!
CLOSE UP
SCHOOL EVENTS
C hristmas has come earlier to our school and
brought some great presents: a wonderful
Christmas Cards Exhibition, Christmas Carols,
a Christmas Vocabulary Tree, a Christmas Vocabulary
Game and a Christmas Treasure Hunt.
Students attending Rosa Ramalho and some
younger students from primary schools were invited to
(re)create some Christmas Cards.
The final result was amazing! Creative and original
postcards gave our school a fantastic spirit of
happiness and joy.

“All you need is love”, John Lennon used to say.
And that’s what we had. Lots of love, all around. It was
in every detail of the decoration of corridors and
classrooms, in the heart-shaped cards, in every word of
every letter put in St. Valentine’s mail box, in the Cupid’s
wings and in the smile of every member of this school’s
community. This is a simple portrait of what we all felt on
February 14th, Saint Valentine’s Day!
The Spelling Bee contest took
place at our school library in a very
special day : “O Dia da Escola”.
At first, our students were a
bit nervous but then they seemed
like professionals, proving that
English words are a “piece of cake”.
They showed everyone their
spelling skills and had a great time
with their colleagues and teachers.
Congratulations to all of them!

There are over 6000 languages spoken in the world. And
behind each and every one of them lies a rich and diverse cul-
ture. That’s what the European Day of Languages (EDL) aims
to celebrate - by showing people across Europe how important
languages are, and what fun can be had learning them.
26 September is the all important day. Set up by the Council
of Europe, EDL was first celebrated in 2001 – and it’s getting
bigger every year, now with 45 countries involved.
Someone who helps me,
Someone I can rely on,
Someone who understands me,
Someone who listens to me,
Someone who doesn’t disappoint me,
Someone who is kind to me,
Someone who makes me feel all right,
Someone who gives me advice,
Someone who cheers me up when I’m sad,
Someone I can share secrets with.

I live in a flat.
My house is quite big, comfortable and fantastic.
There is a kitchen, a living room, a study, two bathrooms,
three bedrooms and a pantry.
The kitchen is big and the living-room is wonderful.
In my bedroom there is a bed in front of the chest of drawers
and a desk in font of the armchair. There’s a wardrobe on the
right of the bed and the bed is between the bedside tables.
