In the previous thirty-one interactions of PRAGATI, projects worth over twelve lakh crores have been reviewed by the Prime Minister. Birth anniversary celebration of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on Jan 23 Port Blair, Jan 21 The Andaman Public Works Department (APWD) has finalized the Master Plan for Port Blair Planning/Development Area (PBPA) which consists of present Port Blair town and 26 revenue villages around it. It was approved by the Administration and notified in the Gazette vide No. 35 dated 01/03/2012. Subsequently, a modification proposal has been contemplated within the ambit of the provisions of Sub-Section-(1) of Section-9 of Andaman & Nicobar Islands Town & Country Planning Regulation, 1994 in the interest of general public and others. Accordingly, a draft modification proposal on the Master Plan for Port Blair Planning/ Development Area was published in the Official Gazette and in two local dailies circulated in the Port Blair Planning Area in addition to publishing it in the website of the Administration as required under Sub- Section (3) of Section-9 of Andaman and Nicobar Islands Town and Country Planning Regulation, 1994 for inviting suggestions/objections from all stakeholders including general public within 45 days from the date of their publication vide Notification No. 122/ 2018/ F.No. TP-21/CE/ 2017/48(PF) dated 08/05/ 2018. By taking into account of the objections/ suggestions received in the matter, the modifications on the Master Plan for Port Blair Planning Area has been finalized and approved by the Lt. Governor (Administrator), Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The contents of modification of the Master Plan for PBPA includes procedure for settlement of dispute in the boundaries of Reserved Forest and Defence landuse zones, definition of the permissible activities in the Parks & Open Space landuse zone & the Planning Norms for such activities, rationalization of front, rear and side setbacks, balcony projections etc. The modification on the Master Plan for Port Blair Planning Area/ Development Area shall come into operation from the date of publication of this notification in A&N Gazette. The final notification of modification of Master Plan for Port Blair Planning Area is published in the Daily Telegrams and the Dweep Samachar. It is also uploaded in the A&N Administration and APWD websites viz. www.andaman.gov.in and www.apwd.and.nic.in respectively. In addition, the copies of the Notification in Form-IV are kept for display in the following Offices for information of general public:- 1. (Contd. on last page) Port Blair, Jan 21 An information was received at 1 pm today at PS Aberdeen through PCR that a two year old child is missing from Prem Nagar near Uma Bakery. Immediately, a team was formed under the leadership of Insp. Sanjay Kumar, SHO PS Aberdeen and swung into action. After extensive search & efforts of the team, the minor boy was recovered from a drain opposite to Hotel TSG Emrald, Phoenix Bay and immediately evacuated to GB Pant Hospital, Port Blair. On enquiry, it was ascertained that the father had dropped his kid and wife to his brother's house at Prem Nagar. The minor boy while playing in front PS Aberdeen traces out missing infant within hours of his house, entered in a drain which led towards Phoenix Bay but nobody noticed the same. Meanwhile, a large number of people were gathered with presumption about the rumors of child lifter in the town but the swift action of police once again proved that no such incident is apparently occurring in the city and quelled the rumors. People have again been requested not to indulge themselves in such unenthusiastic rumors to avoid any untoward incidents.
