Does the composition add to the meaning? In this painting I get the feeling that this character is quite laid back, with the facial expression is quite a casual one, doesn’t look extremely interested and the background is brown which is quite a dull colour

When was the work painted – how do you know? The work was painted in 2014 and you could also tell due to the clothes he is wearing, the black hoodie with the leather jacket over the top and also wearing a branded cap and that it the type of clothes that a lot of people are wearing that in 2014

What do you think the artist is saying about the subject? How is this achieved? As I said, I think the artist is trying to portray his personality through the painting so I’m guessing that this character has quite a relaxed attitude to life and the dull colours of the clothes that maybe point towards his outlook on life
