Post-doctoral position – ear ly lymphopoiesis and development of natural

killer (NK) cells Lund University, located across the bridge from Copenhagen Airport, is Scandinavia’s largest Institution for education and research in areas including technology, science, law, social sciences, economics, medicine, humanities, theology and performing arts. The University has around 40,000 students and 6,000 employees. The Lund Stem Cell Center (www.stemcellcenter.se), a part of Lund University consisting of 10 internationally competitive research groups and more than 140 people under one roof, is a strong international research environment with a focus on stem cell and developmental biology of the blood and central nervous system, cancer stem cell biology, and development of stem cell and cell replacement therapies in these organ system. The Center established as one of six Centers of Excellence in life science in Sweden is one of the largest and leading stem cell centers in Europe. The Lund Stem Cell Center offers regular seminars in the fields of hematopoiesis, cancer stem cells, neurobiology and developmental biology. In addition, monthly workshops and lectures given by international speakers are organized. A research school in stem cell biology offers courses for Master students, PhD students and Post docs (www.stemcellcenter.se/research-school). There is a post-doctoral position immediately available in the Hematopoietic Stem Cell Laboratory on a project studying NK cell development. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Postdoc candidate with team players skills for the studies focused on early stages of blood lineage commitment in human bone marrow and cord blood. A part of the project will also involve studies of mouse lymphopoiesis. This project will involved the use of state-of-the- art and cutting-edge technologies such as cell isolation using multilineage flow cytometry (FACS), transplantation models, global gene expression analysis. Qualifications: Applicants should hold a Ph.D. or equivalent and have a strong background in molecular and cell biology. Expertise in immunology is required and experience in NK cell biology and flow cytometry advantageous.
