Poster Progression

This is the very first draft I created for my poster. I received the following feedback in order to improve:

The font isn't serious enough, lookingquite child-like.

The main image needs to establish a relationship with the audience and perhaps show a link to the wife.

Website needs to be larger

Add a release date

The billing block needs to be placedseparate from the main image, ratherthan overlapping each other.

The first change that can be seen is that of the font. When looking back at existingexamples of similar posters, a similar styleof font was used, this making it moreserious and sophisticated.

The colour scheme has also beenchanged, as I thought red brought moreconnotations to horror as opposedto psychological thriller. I chose white asthis is a colour often associated with achilling atmosphere. Also this being theonly piece of text in white, it stands outmaking it more prominent. This thereforewill be the first thing the audience sees,instantly grabbing there attention.

I changed this, along with the font as Ithought it gave the poster a moreprofessional look overall, and I thought itwould reflect the target audience more sothan before.

I have also included the production name,this a possible USP, and made the websiteclearer. The image is now separate fromthe billing block positioned in the centre,this being the focus.

The main change here is the addition of the release date, this beingessential.

Although it was suggested to changethe main image, I decided not to as Ithought this might convey a differentmeaning. With the actor giving theaudience eye contact I felt this wouldpresent him as a more menacingcharacter, rather than the vulnerablecharacter in the film.
