DESCRIPTION
GT Development designs and manufactures parts for the heavy truck manufacturing industry. Their customers include Pacaar/Kenworth, Freightliner and Caterpiller Tractor. Many of their customers follow JIT (Just In Time) inventory management and have strict pallet and box labeling requirements, so it is important that GT be able to deliver on time and provide the appropriately compliant pallet and item labels. When the management at GT decided to implement barcode in their warehouse and manufacturing departments, they turned to Dynamic Systems. DSI performed an assessment of their existing inventory practices and made recommendations for improvement. GT purchased a number of Intermec mobile terminals with terminal-emulation that would work with their ERP system. High duty-cycle printers were installed to produce the item, shelf and compliance labels. GT Development has continued to grow and prosper, partly due to the fact that they have used technology to increase their productivity and improve customer service.TRANSCRIPT
