Identifying Students using the Entrance Criteria

• Use it for any student you are considering making a request for

• Do not change the rubric• Do not mail the entrance

rubric with request– These will be reviewed at your

technical support visit!– Include the score on the Roster

• If the student already has 29 information in CECAS, still complete the 29 list screen with a 29 Eligibility of Request and complete a Baseline Student Information Form (SIF)

• One request for a Behavior Liaison and one for a Behavior Assistant

• Details…..that tell what this position will look like in your LEA/Charter

• Use specifics

• Give examples

• Remember the goal of the grant

c) Short term Indicators:

• Short-Term Indicators: For the service requested in section (a), describe short-term indicators which demonstrate how the service provided is effective. Each indicator must be measurable and clearly related to the progress towards long-term goals for the student(s). Short-Term Indicators must demonstrate how the position will be used to change student(s) behavior as it relates to the IEP behavioral goal and/or behavioral intervention plan.

d) Long-Term Indicators:

• Long-Term Indicators: Describe long term indicators which demonstrate how the service provided is effective. Long-Term Indicators must demonstrate how the position impacts student’s grades, attendance, suspensions, incident(s) of violence, reading scores, math scores and hours in school.

Budget• Ask for the total of what you need for the position…include benefits, etc.

• Make sure position matches the Request for Funding page

• Only ask for Salaries….No Travel, Subs, materials or Lunch Money

• Be as accurate with students being served as you can

• Category Percent of is asking what % of the salary will be covered by 29 funds?

29 Staff Roles and Expectations

• Behavior Specialist/Liaison– Minimal provision of service is 2

direct face to face contacts per month

– Direct contact consists of evidence/research based intervention designed for that student and his/her behavior

– PBIS Collaboration ONLY

• If your LEA/Charter requested funding you will be notified

• I don’t know when! I understand this is frustrating!

• If you are awarded Money PLEASE make student Eligible on CECAS– Date to use…

Spring Addendums• End of year…$1,000 or less

unencumbered 029 funds. – Request to use for materials or staff

development for behavior liaison.

• A written request for the change should be submitted to the Behavioral Support and Special Programs Section on the Addendum - Utilization Of Existing Behavioral Support (PRC 29) Funds Form.

• Check the Year 13-14!
