The National Geothermal Meeting (RENAG) is an annual event brought byAGEOCOL for the strengthening of geothermal knowledge in Colombia. Its objectives converge to integrate the industry, academia andgovernment in a single space, in order to identify strategies, needs andchallenges that promote the development of geothermal energy inColombia.
The 1st RENAG meeting was held in Bogotá in 2016, with special spotlighton the state of the art of geothermal energy in Colombia. RENAG17 washeld in the city of Manizales, contextualizing the global panorama ofgeothermal energy, with the participation of experts from countries suchas Iceland, El Salvador, Chile, Mexico, New Zealand and Kenya.
This year, RENAG18 will be held again in the city of Bogotá from 11th to 15th
of December, under the slogan “BRINGING TOGETHER GOVERNMENT,INDUSTRY AND ACADEMY TO DEFINE 2030 ROAD MAP FOR GEOTHERMALDEVELOPMENT IN COLOMBIA”
The Colombian Geothermal Association (AGEOCOL by its acronym in Spanish) proudly invites you to participate in the 3rd Colombian National Geothermal Meeting (RENAG 18), to be held in Bogotá in December 2018.

MAIN EVENT
The work methodology chosen by RENAG answers to the values ofparticipation, debate and effective conclusion of proposed topics. Eachof RENAG participants plays an active role within RENAG and thus wemake this space inclusive, dynamic and participatory. This is the idealscenario to positively share projects status, advances and challengesrelated to the development of geothermal energy in Colombia.

1.2. Current overview of the direct uses of geothermal energy in Colombia and future possibilities.
1.3. Colombian Regulatory Framework.
➔ What we have and what is needed?➔ How to succeed on geothermal power plant development in
Colombia.➔ Success stories Geothermal plants in South America.➔ Will we need a National Geothermal Agency for power generation
projects?
1.4. Challenges of Geothermal Energy in the National Energy Market.
➔ How can geothermal compete with the prices of solar, wind and natural gas?
➔ What are the main challenges?
1.5. Examples of the Geothermal Master Plan of Nicaragua and Peru.
