The Debt USA/UK - John Madden - 1 hr 53 min In this polished period thriller, three young Israeli Mossad agents capture and kill a notorious Nazi war criminal. Now, thirty years later, a man claiming to be the same Nazi has surfaced in the Ukraine. That disturbing complication must be addressed, as well as an inconvenient love triangle. Featuring a fine cast including Sam Worthington, Helen Mirren, Tom Wilkinson, and Ciaran Hinds.

BiutifulSpain – Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu 2 hr 27 min Marked by a powerful performance from Javier Bardem, this gritty film follows the struggles of a man trying to reconcile fatherhood, love, crime, and mortality amidst the dangerous underworld of modern Barcelona. Impressively directed and superbly written, this powerfully emotional drama is more linear than Inarritu’s previous films (Amores Perros; 21 Grams; Babel), but just as stark in its worldview.

Kings of PastryUK/USA - D.A. Pennebaker and Chris Hegedus – 1 hr 24 min – both in English and French with subtitlesSixteen of the world’s greatest chefs gather in Lyons to compete for France’s highest honors in the art of patisserie. This exciting film records three exhausting days as the contestants concoct 40 different recipes in a race against the clock. Follow the mixing, piping and sculpting – all amidst the tears of joy and sorrow.

The IllusionistUK/France - Sylvain Chomet 1 hr 20 min THE ILLUSIONIST is the eagerly awaited follow-up to the lovely The Triplets of Belleville from French writer-animator-composer Sylvain Chomet. Based on a script by Jacques Tati, this beautiful and meditative animated film features Tati’s Monsieur Hulot as an aging magician who journeys to Scotland. Using no intelligible dialogue, THE ILLUSIONIST delivers old-school animation magic.

Main AttractionsWhat films will play? This section lists some of the main films we’ll play in the next few months. Additional unlisted films will also become available. Visit our website for the latest info on what films are upcoming. When will films play? We determine each Monday what main films will play starting on Friday. On Tuesday, we set the upcoming week’s schedule and then update our website and our telephone hotline. We’ll also send you a weekly email, if you sign up at our website. (We sometimes also book films more than a week ahead of time, which we post in the “Coming Attractions” section of our website; however, those bookings are only tentative and subject to change.) Another YearUK – Mike Leigh – 2 hr 9 minANOTHER YEAR is as real and genuine as it gets: a small character study about a happily married older couple in North London and their interconnected set of family and friends. It’s about almost nothing at all, and yet gently juxtaposes the big issues of loneliness and love, selfishness and kindness, birth and death. Jim Broadbent and Ruth Sheen give wonderfully affectionate lead performances. One of Mike Leigh’s most likable films in years.

Rabbit HoleUSA - John Cameron Mitchell – 1 hr 31 minRABBIT HOLE stars Aaron Eckhart and Nicole Kidman as a husband and wife who fight to save their marriage after the loss of a child. The film is vivid, honest and unexpectedly funny in it’s protrayal of a family searching for connections and meaning. Refreshingly positive without ever undercutting the tragedy, this well acted film is special.

Tamara DreweUK - Stephen Frears – 1 hr 51 minThis romp through the English countryside follows the return of a beautiful young woman to her childhood village. Eccentric British types abound, including pompous writers, rich weekenders, bourgeois bohemians, and local townsfolk, with a few stampeding cows thrown in for good measure. TAMARA DREWE is breezy and fun.

The King’s SpeechUK - Tom Hooper – 1 hr 58 min A stirring tale about how King George VI triumphed over a speech impediment to help rally Great Britain in WWII. Colin Firth stars as the reserved prince who unexpectedly became king when his brother abdicated the throne in 1936. Geoffrey Rush costars as the unorthodox therapist who helped him find his voice. This handsome period piece features a superb supporting cast including Helena Bonham Carter, Guy Pearce, Derek Jacobi, Claire Bloom, and Anthony Andrews.

Black SwanUSA - Darren Aronofsky – 1 hr 43 minBLACK SWAN is an intense psychological thriller set in the world of New York City ballet. It stars Natalie Portman as a dedicated ballerina who wants to be the star dancer in a new production of Swan Lake. To secure the role, she becomes completely, unnervingly committed to her art. The filmmaking is breathtaking as it goes completely for broke, while the story strides gloriously between romanticism and horror.

Limited Engagements We try to play each of our Main Attractions films for a full multi-week run. Sometimes, however, we are unable to play a film in a timely or complete way, and it becomes a question of either squeezing them in or not playing them at all. We then often schedule those films for a couple of mid-week screenings, called Limited Engagements. Make sure that you sign up for our weekly email blast, so that you don’t miss these short, last-chance screenings.

Somewhere USA - Sofia Coppola – 1 hr 36 minWriter-director Sofia Coppola further hones her gifts for ruefully funny observation and understated melancholy with this low-key portrait of a burned-out screen actor, whose 11-year-old daughter has been tossed into his life unexpectantly. Centered on strong performances from Stephen Dorff and Elle Fanning, SOMEWHERE is a subtle character study that recalls Coppola’s Lost in Translation, but with the action shifted to Hollywood.

2010 – END OF YEAR APPEAL

Dear Friends of the County Theater,

YOUR SUPPORT IS THE FOUNDATION OF OUR SUCCESS. You - our members

and friends - are the reason why the nonprofit County Theater has been around for these

past 17 years. Here is what some of you have said about us:

“The movies are wonderful, the staff friendly, great snacks, gorgeous theater atmo-

sphere and a superb town!”

“Beautiful theater that serves as the cultural and artistic focal point of Doylestown.

For the town to prosper, the theater must prosper.”

“I love art house and foreign films. In fact, our difficulty frequently is that we can't fit in

all the County films we wish to see.”

“The films at the County expand my world. This year, I've been to Sweden, France,

Italy, Cairo, and the Ozarks. A ticket to the County is the only passport I need.”

CHALLENGES FOR THE FUTURE. During these difficult economic times, our re-

sources have been strained. And new challenges confront us. To present the best program-

ming in the future, we will need to upgrade our projection booth with new “dCinema”

projectors. This essential new digital technology comes with the significant price tag of

$100,000 per auditorium. With your help, we hope to upgrade one screen in 2011.

PLEASE CONSIDER AN END-OF-YEAR GIFT. Your special gift supports more

choice and better projection. Bringing more film, theater, dance and special events that

make the County Theater your movie theater. With your help, we’ll continue to improve

and prosper.

To make a gift today, use the form below or visit our website (an easy and convenient way

to make a secure gift) at CountyTheater.org/store.

THANK YOU for all of your support, and see you at the Movies.
