Christmas Card Decorating Contest!

Valley View Elementary students and staff entered the Hidalgo Festival of Lights Christmas Card Decorating Contest. The students and staff did a tremendous job creating their cards. The cards will be displayed around the city of Hidalgo during the holiday season. We invite you to go to the city of Hidalgo and see them.

An Afternoon of Fun!

Afternoon of Fun

To motivate children to learn and try their best, Valley View Elementary rewards students in many ways. One popular reward is the Afternoon of Fun. Students in 3rd and 4th grade get to spend an afternoon having fun playing Bingo, volleyball, creating crafts, conducting science experiments, playing ping pong, playing foosball, playing basketball, and much more.

3rd Grade PTO

Our 3rd grade students treated parents to a special performance at our November PTO Meeting. They paid tribute to our veterans by singing “I’m Proud to Be an American.” Our 3rd grade students also sang and danced to “Ban Music,” “El Tao Tao,” and “Sonidito.” The 3rd grade teachers also spoke about import topics which relate to 3rd grade students, such as the STAAR tests, homework, and attendance.

First AR Millionaire

Valley View Elementary recognized it’s first millionaire for the 2015-2016 school year. Gyanna Echeverria-Robinette was recognized at the November school board meeting for reading over 1,000,000 words. Picture with Gyanna are her parents, VVISD Board Members, Mr. Ramirez, Mr. Coronado, and Ms. Perez. This is the third consecutive year Gyanna has been recognized for her reading accomplishments.

Student Council Participates in Food Drive

November is a month to be thankful and of sharing. Student Council students were

excited to host a food drive to benefit those less fortunate. Valley View Elementary

students were very generous in their annual donation of canned food and non-

perishable items. All items collected were donated to the Rio Grande Valley Food Bank.
