Data:
A collection of unprocessed items, which can include text, numbers, images, audio, or video.
Isolated facts which have not been processed by any user.

Basic ConceptsDigital Repository:
A collection of items produced and published by an institution, which are made available to the academic community or the general public.
Institutional, truly free, and corporate repositories are often referred to as digital libraries.
