Leistritz Produktionstechnik GmbH with its headquar-ters in Nuremberg and its factory in Pleystein delivers solutions for complex manufacturing tasks. Our pro-duction program can be divided into three areas which all have metal processing at their foundation – machine tools, tools and tube technology/sheet metal forming products. With over 300 employees around the world, we construct and manufacture products into which a vast wealth of knowledge flows. By supplying tools, machines and techniques from one source, there is a great deal of synergy which our customers benefit from in diverse branches, especially automotive, the oil and gas industry as well as the valve and fittings industry. We keep our customers satisfied with our high level of manufacturing compe-tence, flexibility and the very good quality of our products. Many of these are customized designs. In both our locations in Germany as well as in the branches in the US and China, we live every day with the creed: We want to implement the needs of our customers as precisely as possible.

In the product sector of machine tools, we develop whirling machines and keyseating machines for the economically efficient manufacture of internal and external threads as well as thread-type profiles. Both whirling and key-seating are based on parameters which require the highest level of precision, flexibility and performance. We support our customers with innovative machines and technologies in order to meet these goals.

We are also a reliable partner in the area of precision tools for metal cutting. In addition to our standard range, we primarily provide special solutions and services in the tools sector that offer our customers more efficiency and quality such as work rest blades for centerless grinding.

The product sector of tube technology/sheet metal forming has its beginnings in the manufacture of mufflers. We were the supplier for these in the 1970’s for the German cult car, the VW Beetle. And today we are still active in this sector and continue to manufac-ture exhaust components for premium automobiles.

Automotive

Leistritz has been a strong partner of the automotive industry for years. We supply machines for the pro-duction of numerous automotive parts such as steer-ing or small gear screws. Our quality tools for profile cutting or end finishing tools, work rest blades or carbide drills are also used in this sector. For us as a supplier, providing a standard solution is not enough. We provide specific or specialized solu-tions. The same is true for the manufacture of cus-tomized tubing. In this area, we produce components for exhaust systems and filler necks to name a few.

Rotors and stators are important components when drilling and recovering oil. They have to work and process corrosive and hard materials as well as with-stand high pressures when being used underground.

Plasticizing screws are used in the plastics industry. In order to achieve excellent workmanship or processing of the plastics material, the screws must exhibit accurate profile and pitch precision. This is where our system solution – machine/tools/soft-ware – comes in.

Products such as hose connections, sockets, couplings, reducing and double nipples, T or Y cross pieces or angle pieces must be secure, precise and reliable. After all, they must maintain their integrity with the most diverse media, temperatures and pressure levels. No matter whether profile grooving tools, flat form tools or drills with removable disks, Leistritz has the right tool for processing these work pieces.

Leistritz has been active in medical technology, which is an extremely sensitive sector, for a long time. With our whirling machines, we fulfill the highest quality requirements. In this branch, turning and milling tools are the most important as well as threading tools for manufacturing internal and external threads.

AviAtion

In aviation, saving energy and expenses by reducing weight plays an important role. The use of hollow shafts in the drive, for example, harbors substantial potential for lightweight construction. With our whirling machines, we achieve the highest level of cutting efficiency and a very high level of precision. Our tools such as carbide milling cutters, carbide drills and carbide reamers are used in aviation. We are specialized as a tool supplier for numerous sub-contractors in the aviation industry.

Whirling mAchineS

Very high levels of surface quality can be achieved with the whirling process. In this process, an eccentri-cally laid whirling ring circles around the slowly rotating workpiece – in most cases without the use of a coolant. We provide a large selection of whirling machines for both inner and outer whirling.

KeySeAting mAchineS

The drawing process involves creating the groove step by step. A cutter is drawn vertically with a lifting motion along the bore hole in conjunction with a horizontal feed motion. In contrast to slotting or broaching, keyseating provides enormous advantages in terms of economy and flexibility.

We offer three various types of keyseating machines in diverse sizes and these in NC and CNC versions with hydraulic or linear drive.

As a manufacturer of precision tools, we have many decades of experience in designing and producing spe-cial tools. We have adapted our delivery range concen-trating on both the rotating processing of workpieces

(end finishing, profile turning, recess turning, thread cutting and general lathing) and further processing of turning workpieces (work rest blades for centerless grinding). Here we show an excerpt of our range of tools.

With our end finishing tools, the ends of axially sym-metric work pieces can be faced, chamfered, centered and turned in only one working step.

No matter whether for internal or external machining (profile cutting, contour turning, contour drilling, chasing, calibrating, polygon turning, gear shaping), we have the right flat form tool.

Where manufacturing is concerned, long durability and high productivity are key. If your cutting plates, drills or profile cutting inserts wear out, we can help you with our regrinding service.

Reground tools can also be re-coated upon request. Using our service guarantees that the original cutting geometry – e.g. clearance and cutting angle, measuring processes for the cutting edges, etc. – as well as the specified coating are preserved. For our customers, this means always getting consistently high quality and durability! Depending on the condition, we can rework work rest blades so that they are in original equipment manufacturer quality for centerless grinding using regrinding and/or partial tipping.
