Settlement. Carlsberg.

The districts around the Carls-berg site are very different. In Frederiksberg people live the good life in fine old detached houses, at gourmet restaurants and in theatres. The Vesterbro district is full of contrasts, with cafés and designer shops side by side with sharwarma restau-rants and ethnic greengrocers. Valby and Humlebyen have an almost village-like atmosphere, whilst Kongens Enghave on the periphery of the city is full of blocks of flats, a relatively dilapidated area that lacks the vibrant life of the other neigh-bouring districts.

Strategy The following is a part of the three parts settlement project. Idea which connects this parts is way of reaction of the living environment to the outer situation either if it is extreme conditions of refugee camp, pulsing city environment or danish countryside.

As well as in two previos parts field of my interest will involve not only the design of the architectural form but also considerations about the scenario of the future function-ing of the form.

Strategy City conditions, which are the environment for the project, require very high level of adaptability to the street life and very short life time of the functional substance. On the other hand living space is often related with certain level of autonomity, security and anonymity.

So working with the time changes in the field of the functional filling of the spaces might occure necessery

Site Site is located just in the middle of Carlsberg area, between the archive building, powerhouse, bottling hall and the scyscraper of the headqua-ters. Currently parking slots are located on the site. Terrain is mostly flat, with cca 2 meter high inclination on the east side. Ny Carlsberg Vej, main local street goes by the north side of the site.

Site While working on the project, a new masterplan projected by studio Entasis is to be consid-ered as an environment for the design. In this masterplan site is just in front of the important public space and surrounded by four scyscrapers 80 to 120 m high.

Site Bulidings and spaces of various time, function and character will be the architectural context of the site. Towers are significantly important element as by new masterplan not only new skyscrapers are to be erected but also the old brick chimney and the house of headquaters are to remain.
