Summer@MBC

Your MBC family tradition begins here!

Renew Connect Equip

"The teaching of your word gives light, so even the simple can understand".Psalm 119:130 (NLT)

Welcome to Summer@MBC 2017Welcome to Summer@MBC 2017! It is our great delight to present an exceptional MBC experience for you and your family. To keep things interesting – we have added some new program elements as well as some new recreation amenities at our beach.

We trust that your experience this summer will be an encouragement to all as you renew your relationship with God, connect with family and friends in meaningful experiences and equip yourselves to go out and be the ‘hands and feet’ of God in your community.

Our theme this year focuses on the ‘Word of God’ with a particular focus on His written revelation to His people – the Bible. We encour-age you to join us in our intentional effort to be grounded in the truth and authority of the Scriptures. May your desire to engage in the meditation and study of the Bible be renewed as a result of your time at MBC.

We also invite you to consider supporting Muskoka Bible Foundation (MBF) in funding the various teaching ministries of MBC and Camp Widjiitiwin. More information can be found on our website at: www.muskokabiblefoundation.com. Your support helps us expand and deepen the impact of the Christ-centred teaching and disciple-ship on the many thousands of guests who attend annually.

May God richly bless you as you enjoy time at MBC this summer!

On behalf of the MBC Team and Board of Directors,

John Friesen Jamie BellChief Executive Officer Director of Operations

The Comedy Magic Saturday, July 15, 7:00PMof Danny HamillDanny Hamill has been involved in the business of magically entertaining audiences for more than 30 years. Through performing his brand of comedy magic, Danny has always believed that if he merely mystifies his audience, he has only done half of his job. His performance would not be complete if he has not brought some joy and laughter to your day. Danny’s easy-going personality coupled with his strong sense of humour will make you feel as if you’ve been a participant in a magical show instead of just a spectator. Catch the Joy of The Comedy Magic of Danny Hamill! dannyhamill.com

Northern Spirit Saturday, July 22, 7:00PMBig BandThe Northern Spirit Big Band, comprised of up to 20 musicians, was formed in 2011 for the purpose of playing gospel music in a big band style. Very quickly it was realized that the band was capable of presenting other styles as well, including standards of the big band era, vocal and instrumental solos, popular ballads and selected classical music. They play many big band standards, such as Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, and Artie Shaw. We're pleased to see the NSBB return to the MBC stage for this encore presentation! nsbband.com

Her concert ministry has provided her with many varied musical venues including Peoples Church, Huntley Street and various sporting events such as the Toronto Blue Jays. She is married to David Onley, who served as the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario from 2007 to 2014 and enjoyed participating in his activities during his term in office and embraced her public role with enthusiasm. Jordan St Cyr Saturday, August 12, 7:00PMIf “salt of the earth” could describe an artist and his music, there is perhaps no more apt phrase for Contemporary Christian Music roots/rocker and worship leader, Jordan St Cyr. He is a sincere, veracious performer with a talent for writing melodies to be visited over many years. Jordan’s music blends a raw contemporary sound with lyrics that are ready to explore real-life issues. Driving all of it is a passion to write and present sonically compelling music that matters, infused by unabashed transparency. jordanstcyr.com

The Commissionaires Saturday, Sept. 2, 7:00PMThe Commissionaires are a new soul-roots-gospel outfit formed by indie singer-songwriter Jacob Moon and Newworldson’s Joel Parisien. Their debut record entitled Shelter Me (Dec 2016) is an 8-song sonic journey, featuring a combination of traditional gospel numbers and new arrangements of songs written by artists like Ben Harper, Stevie Wonder and Buddy Miller. Muskoka Bible FoundationYOU are INVITED!

Please join us as we press onward with our vision to see families strengthened in Biblically grounded faith, and youth transformed through the power of the Good News of Jesus Christ!

Muskoka Bible Foundation (MBF) supports the various Kingdom focused ministry initiatives taking place at Muskoka Bible Centre and Camp Widjiitiwin.

Each year more and more people of all ages are being impacted for Christ through programming that is centred around the teaching of the Bible and the clear proclamation of the Gospel.

In 2017 Camp Widjiitiwin will be hosting some 340 marginalized youth from inner city communities. These young people are fully sponsored and will experience a week of camp community where the gospel is shared with clarity in word and action. Pray with us that the seeds of God’s truth will bring salvation to many.

Over 110 young people are enrolled in our Stepping Stones Discipleship experience. They will live in a Christ-centred community and serve our guests with JOY as they learn to understand the implications of the Gospel in their daily living.

Over 6000 guests, representing hundreds of families, will be encour-aged through a Summer@MBC experience where the teaching of God’s Word is our centre- piece. We know that lives will be changed and families strengthened as a result of these experiences.

34

Our financial need to support these opportunities in 2017 is $776,000. All of our ministry programming is fully supported through donations made to the Muskoka Bible Foundation.

As you are blessed by these experiences and are committed to making an investment for the furtherance of God’s Kingdom, we invite you to consider supporting us through prayer and finances. Your gift will be strategically used to impact thousands with God’s truth this year.

Please consider giving today to support the strengthening of families and seeing young lives transformed by the Gospel – for His glory alone.

You can find out more information at www.muskokabiblefoundation.com

You can give at the main registration desk in the lobby or in the various chapel offerings that are received during the week (Sunday AM, Wednesday PM and Friday PM).

Should you have further questions about how your gift will be used, please connect with John Friesen, CEO of MBC at [email protected]
