Senior Surveyor Job Description Department: Property and Maintenance Services Responsible to: Head of Property and Maintenance Services Responsible for: Surveyors x 2 and Property and Maintenance Officer Job purpose: To continually review the conditions of customers’ homes, while ensuring we are providing energy efficient and cost effect management of our Assets. Working with all departments, to provide data about our property portfolio, to allow for effective decisions to be made in Property and Maintenance Services. Lead the Property Team to become carbon literate and achieve the objectives of the Asset Management Strategy. Key outputs of the role: 1. Ensure our properties and estates are well maintained and safe places to live 2. Carry out stock condition surveys accurately and in line with the component replacement plans 3. Implement a decarbonisation program of works following the completion of property energy surveys 4. Closely monitor work of staff to ensure a high standard of service is provided; allocate work accordingly 5. Ensure staff have the knowledge, skills, experience and resources to work effectively; support staff informally as required and formally through organisational arrangements, i.e. monthly 1:1’s, team meetings 6. Develop the Property Team and other departments to become Carbon Literate 1

Job Description

Department: Property and Maintenance Services

Responsible to: Head of Property and Maintenance Services

Responsible for: Surveyors x 2 and Property and Maintenance Officer

Job purpose:

To continually review the conditions of customers’ homes, while ensuring we are providing energy efficient and cost effect management of our Assets.

Working with all departments, to provide data about our property portfolio, to allow for effective decisions to be made in Property and Maintenance Services.

Lead the Property Team to become carbon literate and achieve the objectives of the Asset Management Strategy.

Key outputs of the role:

1. Ensure our properties and estates are well maintained and safe places to live2. Carry out stock condition surveys accurately and in line with the component

replacement plans 3. Implement a decarbonisation program of works following the completion of

the customer’s requirements 8. Prepare reports, specifications and schedule of works for internal and external

contractors9. Monitor and control work undertaken by contractors10.Monitoring and providing updates on the Planned Maintenance budget to the

Head of Property and Maintenance Services11.Keep accurate records of ongoing and completed maintenance work12.Monitor the quality and effectiveness of the repair service.13.Prepare, as requested reports and statistical information for Head of Property and

Maintenance Services14.Maintain excellent relationships with key clients, stakeholders and partners,

promoting and representing Cadwyn. 15.Engage with Welsh Government, local authorities, consultants, contractors, and

other professional agencies.

16.Ensure compliance is maintained in respect of governance and adherence to relevant statutory, health and safety, and regulatory provisions

17.Comply with Environmental, Health, Safety, Security and Welsh Housing Quality Standards at all times

18.Provide a first class customer service19.Work closely with the Contract Manager to support the aims of the Property and

Maintenance Service
