The
ld saying
is "what
a ifference a day
makes."
As we
ook back
over the
last
few
weeks
and months,
we can
only say,"Whata
difference "
We'll
back up n
time
in order
for
you to catch upon the
differences
that have
been in
the
making.
By the third week in December, we had
about80% f the house completed. Earlier
we
had
scheduled
a holiday in
Lae around
Christmas
time. So
we
ecided
to go ahead
with
i t
as we
were
very tired from
a l l the
building we
had
b e e n
doing.
We
pent
the
holiday
season
with Gil
and Agnes
Shepherd
and
their
daughter Lori. We
ent through
Mexico
Jungle Camp
ogether
and
have kept
in touch
since
then. It was a
very enjoyable
time of ellowship,rest,and browsing around
Lae,
which
has
many
ice
stores.
We
eturned to Madang and
continued our
holiday
until
the
PET on fere nce
in the
third
week of January. Included in this meeti ng
were
newcomers to
the
PBT-PNG Branch,
Wes and Alta
Beasley,
their
sons Jonathon
and Adam, nd Martha Wade. Several items
of importance were agreed upon and
t wasa
good
time of fellowship.
Following the meeting,
we
returned to
Samban
the
end of
January and
resumed
workon he
house.
Our nterest
in getting
into
the
house
was heightened
upon our retu

when
we
moved into the house on
February
22. We t i l l
had
a
few
things
to d o
on the
house, but the major living areas were
completed.
It
became asier
to do
he work
o
complete
the
house as we ived in
i t . We
ad
designed
the house to be
mosquito-proof,
as
much
as
ossible,
by
ectioning off arge
areas
in screen wire,so thatby he time we ot o our
sleeping areas we
would
have gon e
through
three of these sections.
Happily, this
design
seems
to have
worked. We o
longer sleep
under mosquito nets,
and
our living
room/kitchen area s much
icer
than we
ad
previously experienced. Jesse seems o
really
enjoy
his
own
room, specially with
his own
Sesame
Street curtains
that Grandma
and
Papaw sent him. I n our i r s t morning in the
house,he id
ask when
we
ere going home,
because
he had
missed
his "natnat house"
(mosquito
n e t ) ,
but the house soon
became
home, nd
e has
really
enjoyed
the
screened-
in
porch
where he ides his
Big
Wheel.
The i r s t
week
of March
brought
some new
arrivals
to Samban.

Upon returning to Samban, we began in
