Metropolia

Metropolia University of Applied Sciences offers the widest selection of studies in Fin-land.

68 curriculums divided into culture, economics, technical, social and healthcare studies, 15 of which are taught in English.

Bachelor of Media Technology

Trains experts on graphical and digital media.

The studies are mainly theoretical, emphasizing project management skills and wide knowledge of media solutions and technologies

After First year students are divided into two groups:

Printed media represents 65% of Finland’s mass media outlet, although digital media’s share is moderately increasing.

Newspapers are still the leading advertisement media.

There are 31 seven-day dailies, more than in any other Nordic country

It is the third country in the world for newspa-per consumption with 483 copies per 1000 in-habitants

Newspapers are strong in subscriptions and early-morning delivery

76 percent of the population older then 10 reads a daily newspaper or afternoon paper

Two major publishers account for 56 percent of the aggregate circulation of  dailies

Of all 51 dailies, 11 titles appear outside chain ownerships

The main products of the print industry in Fin-land are newspapers, periodicals and books. Other products include printed advertising material, forms, packages, calendars and la-bels.

Most print media produced for Finnish con-sumption is created by domestic enterprises.

•In2002,100percentofFinnishnewspa-pers,98percentofmagazinesandperi-odicals,and84percentofliteratureweredomesticallyproduced.

Finland exports more books, pamphlets, newspapers, and periodicals than it imports.

Advertisement and print media

The print media has lost a big amount of its advertisement income to internet and digital sector.

The main reason is the lower costs for digi-tal advertisement, more precise targeting and feedback about the results.
