Golf & Polo in Argentina are becoming more
and more important in Argentina. Polo has
always been a typical sport in Argentina, and
Golf has conquered many places all over the
country.
GolfArgentina has about 300 golf courses in the whole country, with the option of choosing among diverse landscapes and tourist attractions to complement this sport's practice.
Golf lovers may enjoy refined gastronomy and luxury hotels, in combination with fishing, skiing, spas, hiking, or wine routes.
Some of the places with golf courses that visitors cannot miss are: Buenos Aires and its lovely suburbs, the main cities of the Atlantic Coast, Córdoba and Patagonia. In the regions of the North, Litoral and Cuyo, the cities of Salta, Tucumán, Santa Fe and Mendoza have golf courses worthy of being visited.
Golf regions
Golf courses in Argentina are mostly concentrated in the city of Buenos Aires and the northern suburbs.
The City, as well as the Plains, features traditional style golf courses like the Jockey Club, Olivos Golf Club and Hurlingham which opened their doors by the ends of the XIX century and beginnings of the XX.
There are also modern golf courses and American style courses like Pilar Golf Club and the Buenos Aires Golf Club which hosted the World Cup in 2.000, won by Tiger Woods and David Duval. Additionally, the Atlantic Coast features excellent golf courses, like Los Acantilados and Playa Grande, in Mar del Plata.
Buenos Aires & Atlantic Coast
Both courses have hosted tournaments with the participation of some of the top golfers. The high-end coastal cities of Pinamar and Cariló also have excellent golf courses. Miramar’s golf course is the most unique one with characteristic links. Close to the coast line, Tandil and Sierra de la Ventana have their own challenging courses.
Buenos Aires & Atlantic Coast
In Salta, a few minutes drive from its capital, there is a 50 years old golf course. It is beautifully framed by hills, the same as the golf course of the Gral. San Martín Casino, at Palpalá, in the province of Jujuy pretty close to the Humahuaca gorge and the Yungas forest.
In Tucumán, there are traditional golf courses like the Jockey Club. As well as, El Siambón and Las Hortensias, which are highly recommended because of their surrounding landscapes. Both are in the middle of the hills.

Santiago del Estero province features Santiago Golf Club, placed at the northern coast of the Río Dulce, at its capital city and Termas de Río Hondo has the Río Hondo Golf Club and the Yacu Rupaj.

The golf course of the Rosario Golf Club, just a few minutes from the city of Rosario, has a winding field with narrow courses and demanding greens.
This is the region’s most important golf course. There are other courses in the area that golfers can also enjoy when visiting here.

Golf among the Litoral RiversSome golf courses in this are are: Tacuru Social Club (Posadas, Misiones), Corrientes Golf Club (Corrientes), Colon Golf Club (Colón, Entre Ríos), Gualeguaychu Country Club (Gualeguaychu, Entre Ríos), Jockey Club Rosario (Rosario, Santa Fe).
Ushuaia has the southernmost golf course, with 9 holes, Ushuaia Golf Club.
However, the best golf courses of the Patagonian region are in the northern region, close to San Carlos de Bariloche.
Llao Llao and Arelauquen golf courses are challenging while framed by amazing landscapes: mountains, lakes and ancient trees.
Close to the Lois Suites Chapelco, in San Martín de los Andes, is the Chapelco Golf Club, the first golf course designed in South America by Jack Nicklaus and Jack Nicklaus II.

Some other are: Campo de Golf El Pinar (El Calafate), Santa Lucia Golf Club (Chubut), General Roca Golf Club (General Roca), Arroyito Country Club (Neuquen), Cumelen Country Club (Villa La Angostura), Villa Arelauquen Golf Club (Bariloche).

This province features more than 25 golf courses, located very close to the city. Additionally, two of Argentina’s best golf players were born in these lands: Romero and Cabrera.
Córdoba Golf Club, at Villa Allende, has what is considered to be one of the best golf courses in South America. In the hills, the most revered golf courses are La Cumbre Golf Club, Ascochinga Golf Club and El Potrerillo de Larreta, with challenging fields framed by beautiful landscapes.

In Mendoza, the Club de Campo Mendoza and the Golf Club Andino are worth visiting.
This region offers the possibility of practicing this sport in the midst of magnificent landscapes. At San Rafael, for instance, one of the wineries has it own golf course: Bodega Viñas del Golf. So guests can really enjoy spectacular scenery.

Together with his 4-goal brother, Fernando, they have played for Argentina in several competitions. They have played with and against top players such as Adolfo Cambiasso and the Heguy brothers.
Upon arrival at the estancia, Polo Match, located in the polo capital, Open Door, you will have a drink with all the players and Santiago will teach you the basics of the game. Santiago is a very charming guy with a great sense of humor. We have no doubt that he will share with you some funny stories about his time playing Polo. We know you will have a laugh with him and his friends.
Depending on the time, you will either have lunch, a typical `asado` with Argentine wine and beer, and then a polo match will be played for you to watch.
After the match, you will have the chance to interact with the teams. Finally, before sunset you will return to your hotel in Buenos Aires.
