Home to more than 600 international students and many scholars, Qafqaz University emphasizes

student and staff exchange programs and encourages them to study abroad as part of intensive

learning experiences that include rigorous fieldwork world-wide, research in high-tech science labs,

and exposure to global business through international opportunities with some of the world's best

schools. Our university partners with various foreign universities and organizes student exchanges,

double degrees, joint degrees, and mirror degree programs which enrich our students vision and

Qafqaz University supports the partnership between university and enterprises by focusing on meeting

modern labor market requirements. Key activities include support to projects that boost the links

between enterprises, education and research, and accelerating the spread, transfer and use of

Within the framework of ongoing collaboration, support and

commitment of BP-Azerbaijan, Qafqaz University (QU) has

launched three phase project to broaden its curriculum in

chemical, petroleum and mechanical engineering disciplines.

The main objective of the programme is to achieve a better understanding and mutual enrichment between the European Union and third countries co-operation in the field of higher education through promoting the exchange of persons, knowledge and skills at higher education level. Student ClubsAt present 16 student clubs and 4 social associations are active within the university. Students organize seminars, panels, and conferences that emphasize contemporary international challenges and support, both spiritually and financially, the poor and needy in their communities. The diversity of international student population comprises 14 different countries. The activity areas that the students engage in involve different spheres such as philanthropic activities, business world, social activities, sports, culture, art and literature.

The university facilities' vision is to be an organization where continuous and measurable improvement in

service is the standard. We will strive to be recognized by the University community as the service provider

of choice through timely delivery of the best value product or service to the customer. We will do this by

delivering excellent service, being a partner in addressing our customers' needs, fulfilling our facilities

stewardship role university-wide, collaborating with academics and research, and by being an innovative

leader in facilities management.

DormitoriesThe Qafqaz University male and female dormitory facilities are equipped

with study rooms, satellite TVs, libraries, cafeterias, tennis courts, high

speed internet, laundry services, parking lots, etc. to ensure high living

standards and to boost the academic and social activities of the students.

The dormitory operates 24/7 and the administration arranges student

orientation meetings, surveys, and other performance measurement

strategies to ensure student satisfaction. The dormitory staff members

are eager to provide psychological support and advice to students in need

and help them to get used to dormitory life and the social environment.

International Students

The Republic of Azerbaijan is the largest

country in the Caucasus region of

Eurasia. It is the first democratic and

secular republic in the Muslim world. The

richness and diversity of Azerbaijan's

nature can be found in travel notes dating

back to the first Eastern travelers. Due the

unique climate in Azerbaijan, the flora is

much richer in the number of species than

the flora of the other republics of the South

Caucasus. Azerbaijan is one of the most

ancient sites of humankind. The earliest

evidence of human settlement in the

territory of Azerbaijan dates to the late

Stone Age. There were settlements in

Azerbaijan even at the earliest stages of

history. The total population of Azerbaijan

is estimated to be 8.3 million people.

International students are tested prior to classes in order to determine their

language proficiency level. Those who are proficient enough or hold required

TOEFL/IELTS score can start their classes directly. Prospective students

who have not passed language proficiency exam and do not hold required

TOEFL/IELTS score are placed into different preparatory groups/levels (total

of 4 levels) based on their language competency level. Students who have

completed all 4 levels successfully (English 70) are not required to take

language proficiency test and are eligible to start their education in relevant

departments. Students who fail the language proficiency exam at the end of

the first year will be tested at the beginning of the second year and assigned

to the appropriate after determining the extent of their English knowledge.
