“No longer was there manna for the Israelites, who that year ate of the yield of the land of Canaan.” (JOSHUA 5:12)
Over the forty years that the Israelites journeyed through the desert, God provided them with manna to eat. As soon as they were able to enjoy the fruits of the Promised Land the manna ceased. Likewise, God’s blessings to us may change over the years but it is important to trust that God will al-ways provide us with all that we need.

SPECIAL INVITATION
100 Years Blessed - James O'Keefe
Jim is an original Levittown homeowner (61 years) and since its inception, a faithful communicant of Immaculate Conception parish. He was an avid supporter of the parish community and to this day, a devoted servant of God dem-onstrated by his lifelong attendance at daily Mass. A World War II veteran, Jim served his country proudly in the United States Navy.
All are welcome to join Jim, family and friends at a spe-cial Mass to be celebrated on Saturday, March 12 at 12:00 Noon to commemorate Jim's 100th birthday.
Cross-Train Your Faith “Haggai and Malachi – Messengers of Hope” Thomas Smith takes us on a journey through two of the shortest books in the Bible. Haggai is a little more than two pages long. Malachi is four pages long and also the last book in the Old Testament.
Haggai, along with his partner prophet, Zechariah, are proph-ets of hope who encourage the people and help them through their times of poor harvests, misplaced priorities, lackluster devotion and poor morale.
Reading Malachi is like reading much of today’s news – priest scandals, rampant divorce, religious indifference, labor wage controversies and oppression of the poor. This all took place over 2500 years ago.
We meet in the Parish Center on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. and at 7:00 p.m. If you have suggestions for future programs please let us know by contacting John Murray at 215-945-0215 or Andy Pastorek at 215-943-2469.
FAITH FORMATION
FORGIVENESS "So he got up and went back to his father. While he was still a long way off, his father caught sight of him, and was filled with compassion. He ran to his son, embraced him and kissed him." To have seen his son a long way off, the father must have been looking for him, watching every day, hoping for his return. The father was ready to forgive, love, and receive back the son who wandered and squandered. And so our God is with us. God's faithful love and compassion is always ready to forgive us, if only we would turn back to the right way again. As Saint Paul says, "God was reconciling the world to [God] in Christ, not counting their trespasses against them and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation." In turn, we are to welcome others into this new freedom and joy. "So we are ambassadors for Christ, as if God were appealing through us." Copyright (c) J. S. Paluch Company
THE YEAR OF MERCY
The Jubilee Year of Mercy December 8, 2015 through November 20, 2016
Jubilee Year of Mercy ‐ Divine Mercy Sunday: Feast of Mercy In the Gospel reading every year on the Second Sun-day of Easter, Jesus enters the upper room where the disci-ples are and tells them, “Peace be with you.” That peace lies at the heart of Divine Mercy. It is the peace which Jesus won for all men and women on the cross. His resurrection is the Father’s public validation of Jesus’ victory over sin and death. That is why Pope Saint John Paul II gave the Second Sunday of Easter the name “Divine Mercy Sunday.”
Saint Faustina Kowalska, a Polish nun, experienced visions of the Lord Jesus during the 1930s. As a result of these vi-sions, she produced a now‐famous image of Jesus with red and white beams of light coming from his side with the words, “Jesus, I trust in you.”
Catholics who go to Confession, receive Communion, and offer prayers for the Pope while also participating in Divine Mercy devotions in a spirit of complete detachment from sin can receive full remission of temporal punishment due to sin (Plenary Indulgence) on this day.
Pope Francis has made mercy one of the hallmarks of his pontificate. He proclaimed the Year of Mercy so that in re-ceiving God’s mercy in our own lives, we can extend it to others. All of us can do this in concrete ways such as forgiv-ing our spouse or siblings. Perhaps there are relationships in our lives that require healing. The poor, the vulnerable, and sinners especially need us to be instruments of God’s mercy. Through Divine Mercy, the great gift of Jesus’ cross and resurrection, we can hear Jesus once again say to us, “Peace be with you.” ‐Eric Banecker, Seminarian, St. Charles Borromeo Seminary How to Live It: This year’s Divine Mercy Sunday falls on April 3, 2016. During this special Jubilee year, consider making a effort to receive the Plenary Indulgence avail-able on this Feast of Mercy.
