BRENT R. yOUNGProfessor and Head, Chemical and Materials Engineering, The University of AucklandBrent Young is a Professor in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at the University of Auckland. He holds the position of Chair in Food Process Engineering and is Director of the Industrial Information and Control Centre (I2C2).

cRAIG BERRyUnit Manager – Water Aurecon Craig is a Chartered Engineer with over 25 years’ experience in civil engineering with particular emphasis on water related projects for both private and public clients. Craig is currently the Unit Manager for the Aurecon Water business in Queensland, Craig retains a technical focus with a hands on approach in project delivery and client relationships with recent experience on a number of Associated Water CSG projects throughout Queensland and northern NSW.

Leo has extensive expertise in quantitative methods, with a strong emphasis on planning, valuation (discounted cash flows, cost-benefit analysis), quantitative risk analysis (Monte Carlo simulation), optimisation, econometrics and general equilibrium.

Leo’s experience in oil & gas encompasses project appraisal using discounted cash flow and long and short-run forecasting. His practical experience in process operations led to a rapid specialisation in process optimisation, taking his first ethylene plant from 1800 t/d to 2100 t/d without physical modification.
