Question 1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? I have used a bold font across the top of my magazine for the masthead. This is conventional and most magazines do this as it gets the audiences attention I have put my cover lines on the left hand side which is another conventional form. This is commonly used as when magazines are stacked in the shops you can only see the left hand side therefore it is important to have cover lines there that will make the readers want to buy the magazine. The main cover line is in a larger font compared to the other cover lines. This makes it obvious to the reader what the main articles is about in this months issue. Furthermore the main cover line links to the main image on the front cover.

Question 1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

I decided to place the date and issue number above the masthead which challenges conventions as they are usually placed above the barcode.

I have decided to use a pug which gets the audience attention without distracting them from the masthead, image and main cover line which id more important. However not all magazines use pugs.

I have used a footer which is also conventional as it quickly summarises what will be in the magazine.

The main image is in a medium close up. Many magazines use a MCU shot so that you can see the persons facial expression.
