MAIN IMAGESWHEN PRODUCING MY MAIN IMAGE, I WANTED TO TAKE A PICTURE THAT WERE UNUSUAL BUT STILL LINKED WITH THE GENRE OF; R&B, AFRO BEATS AND HIP HOP. THE VARIOUS ARTISTS OF THESE GENRES ALL HAVE A BACKGROUND AND MEANING TO THE MUSIC THEY PRODUCE. THIS IS WHY I HAVE USED THE TWO BLACK FEMALE AND MALE MODELS. I HAVE USED A MODEL IN A WHEELCHAIR TO SHOW DIVERSITY AND TO ALSO REACH OUT TO EVERY SOCIAL GROUPS. WHETHER IT’S EMO, GEEKS, YOUTHS OR ROCKERS, IT REPRESENTS MANY THROUGH THIS ONE IMAGE. THIS IMAGE WOULD ALSO APPEAL TO BOTH GENDERS AS THERE IS NOT ONE SEX DOMINATING THE FRONT COVER. THE YOUNG PEOPLE SEEN IN THE CONTENTS OF THE MAGAZINE, GET THE IDEA OF A HIP AND STIMULATING NEW PLACE, THAT ENDURES EXCLUSIVELY THE MAGAZINE. I HAVE DONE THE SAME WITH THE MAIN IMAGE ON THE DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD. THE MODEL IS A YOUNG MALE MODEL THAT WOULD ALSO APPEAL TO MALES AND FEMALES. I HAVE UNITED MUSIC NEWS ON MY CONTENTS AS THIS IS TYPICAL NEWS IN A MUSIC MAGAZINE. THIS HELPS THE AUDIENCE KNOW WHAT TYPE OF ARTICLES THEY SHOULD BE EXPECTING.

COLOUR SCHEME

MY COLOUR SCHEME IS; BLACK, WHITE, GOLD, RED AND BLUE. THESE COLOURS WERE BASED UPON MY AUDIENCE RESEARCH, (50% MALE AND 50% FEMALE) AND MY OWN DECISIONS MADE. THESE COLOURS APPEAL TO BOTH GENDERS AS THIS IS WHAT I WAS AIMING FOR.

THE CONNOTATION FOR THESE COLOURS ARE FORMALITY, PERFECTION, FRESHNESS AND SERIOUSNESS AND ENERGY. THESE COLOURS ARE GENDER NON SPECIFIC SO THEY WILL APPEAL TO MALES AND FEMALES AT THE SAME TIME. THUS THE MARKET OF MY MAGAZINE WILL BE ATTRACTED TO BOTH GENDERS TOO INCREASING AUDIENCE AND READERS INTERESTED IN THE GENRE OF AFRO BEATS, HIP HOP & R&B.

THE SOCIAL GROUP THAT THIS COLOUR SCHEME WOULD SUIT MORE ARE URBAN, TEENAGER AND YOUNG ADULTS. THIS IS BECAUSE THEY ARE MOST LIKELY TO FOLLOW THE LATEST TRENDS AND MAY ALSO COPY CELEBRITIES THEY IDOLISE, FOR EXAMPLE KANYE WEST (AS SEEN ABOVE).

THE DIFFERENT CATEGORIES SUCH AS, DANCE, INTERVIEWS AND EVENTS FEATURED IN MY MAGAZINE REPRESENT MUSIC LOVERS THAT ENJOY A GOOD TIME, AND ENTERTAINMENT. AS SEEN IN THE CONTENTS PAGE, THE TWO MODEL ARE IN A SKATING PARK SMILING AND LAUGHING TO EACH OTHER. THIS PRESENTS A POSITIVE IMAGE TO THE READERS AS OUT-GOERS AND MY TARGET AUDIENCE ARE MORE ENGAGED FOR INSTANCE THIS WOULD RELATE TO THEM CAUSING THEM TO BE MORE INTERESTED IN MY MAGAZINE.

21ST CENTURYAS SEEN THROUGH THE FRONT COVER, CONTENTS PAGE AND DOUBLE PAGE, MY MUSIC MAGAZINE IS UP TO DATE WITH TODAY’S GENERATION AND CURRENTS AFFAIRS. MY PRODUCT REPRESENTS TODAY’S GENERATION AS SEEN ON THE FRONT COVER, IT GIVES READERS OTHER WAYS OF VIEWING AND CONTACTING MY PRODUCT. E.G. SOCIAL NETWORKING SITE LIKE FACEBOOK AND TWITTER. AS I AM TARGETING MY MAGAZINE AT 16-27 YEAR OLDS, I WANT TO KEEP THEM INTERESTED IN MY PRODUCT AND ALSO MAKE IT AVAILABLE TO THEM FROM AS MANY MEDIA PLATFORMS AS POSSIBLE, THEREFORE GAINING A WIDER RANGE OF READERS. THROUGH THIS, MY MEDIA PRODUCT REPRESENTS THE 21ST CENTURY GENERATION OF TECHNOLOGY READERS,

OTHER FEATURESI HAVE NOT PLACED THE PRICE OF THE MAGAZINE ON THE FRONT COVER, SO MY TARGET AUDIENCE O NOT DISTRACTED OR DIVERT TO OTHER SIMILAR PRODUCTS. I WANT TO ATTRACT MY TARGET AUDIENCE BY PLACING ARTIST OF THE SAME AGE ON THE FRONT COVER OF MY MAGAZINE, REPRESENTING THE YOUTHS AND YOUNG ADULTS TOO, THEREFORE THE PRICE OF THE MAGAZINE IS NOT IMPORTANT.

MISE EN SCENE: THE CLOTHING OF THE ARTIST FEATURED IN MY MEDIA PRODUCT REFLECTS AND REPRESENTS THE STYLE OF MY CHOSEN GENRES AND ALSO AN URBAN STYLE. FOR EXAMPLE, THE FEMALE A MODEL IS WEAR TIMBERLAND BOOT. THIS REPRESENTS THE URBAN STYLE OF TEENAGERS AND ADULTS AS YOU WOULD MAINLY SEE THEM WEAR SUCH DESIGNER PRODUCTS. HOWEVER THIS CAN ALSO RELATE TO OTHER SOCIAL GROUPS AS YOUNG ADULTS ARE NOT THE ONLY GROUP TO WEAR THE SHOES.

THE STYLE OF DRESSING IN EACH PHOTOGRAPH IS MAINLY CONSISTED THROUGHOUT MAGAZINE WHERE THERE WAS RELAXED BUT URBAN STYLE. THIS SHOWED THE 21ST CENTURIES IDEA OF FASHION IN ORDER TO GRAB THE AUDIENCES ATTENTION. STANDING OUT WITH THAT THE COLOURS REFLECTED ON THE CLOTHES IT SUGGESTED BOTH FEMININE AND MASCULINE POWERFUL, FORMALITY AND ELEGANT VIBES.
