Production and Distribution company

Our production company is paramount a major company which is very well known worldwide as they have produced a similar film to ours which is mean girls and footloose so the company is suitable for our type of film because it’s a teen film that has been done before but this time is a popular girl who gets pregnant and decides to end up with the nerd king so it does have a twist and its not like Juno.

We have decided to go with major companies as they have a large budget that we can have and they will take care of the distribution like posters, adverts online/TV, billboards. Social media can also be used for distribution like Facebook and twitter can be used to interact with the audience this helps the audience get excited about the film as there will be updates and photos which give glimpses of what they should expect from the film. The distribution company will take care of the premiers which is helpful as it could be worldwide premier where the celebrities can go around to get the first screenings.

Distribution We chose Metro Goldwyn Mayer which is also a major company that has been around since the 1920s who helped distribute films like legally blonde and material girls which are both very girly films that have comedy and romance involved like our film so it is a suitable distribution company. They have been successful for many years and the films have been popular so we decided to go with this company.

The only bad thing about being with a big company you have less control over your film distribution so they wont consult you first before they make the changes. So the bigger the distribution deal you get the less control over the distribution you get. But if we did go with an independent company it would be harder to produce and distribute the film with out financial help from major companies also it would be hard to find some place to put the posters as you need to pay a lot of money and you need to have a license to be able to put your posters and also you need to have the songs copyrighted so you need to pay the artist money for the song you use.
