Page 1: Question 4

To film my music video I used a Gopro Hero3. This piece of technology was highly useful as it is light weight and easy to carry. It also meant that I couldn’t film as and when I needed especially when I saw some inspiration that would look good in my video. However, using the Gopro restricted the amount I could film as I could not see what I was filming and therefore could not focus. I would definitely use a canon camera if I were to re do this video.

Premier Pro is the main software I used to edit my video together. I could upload all my footage onto the software and then use the tools to cut and replace the footage into the right place. I could speed up or slow down the footage in order to fit the beat of the music meaning it was more appealing to watch as it was visually pleasing and went to the beat of the music. I learned new features on premier pro since the last time I used it. I learned how to add gradient effects in order to make my video look a little more vintage in some areas.

Blogger is the software in which all of my work has been stored. It allows me to place my work in different labels for easy access and so that I can view multiple work at the same time. I have developed my skills on blogger for example, I have learned to add new labels.

YouTube was key when finding inspiration for my music video. I could explore the software in order to find similar videos and genre types to compare mine to. I could also use YouTube to copy a URL in order to get my chosen song (‘Redemption by Sigma’) onto premier pro in order to edit.

This is the computer that I used during all of my work. I used it to upload my footage, store pictures and my digipak and also organise my work in order to find it easily. I have recently been taught a new easy way of accessing work on the hard drive which made it much more simple for me to complete my work. The computer allowed me to use a range of software such as premier pro, photo shop and YouTube.

Photoshop was essential when creating my digipak and poster. It allowed me to upload photos onto a CD template and edit appropriately in order to create a digipak suitable for my video. I could cut the photos, crop, add effects such as changing the lighting and contrast in order to enhance the photo. I also learned how to add in an effect to make it look as if the sun was shining in on the photo.
