Hip Hop Magazine DistributorsInterMedia has invested in cable television, broadcast television, print, programming, and broadband opportunities. Intermedia is a huge company in America distributing niche market magazines. Including:

A magazine targeted at higher class readers who purchase the magazine monthly.

This magazine is targeted at a niche market of higher class African Americans.

Vibe is an extremely influential brand represent through magazines and a website to a small niche market.

Portfolio

Which Distributor is best for me? As this Intermedia company distributes popular and similar magazines to my genre, such as Vibe , the company has a expectancy to be professional and reliable. Also, the company has a number of magazines targeting a specific and similar audience to my magazine which allows the company to be well suited with my Hip Hop magazine. My magazine (Suave)will appeal to their existing audience. Having an existing and guaranteed audience for similar products within the company, this means there's more likely to be an audience for my magazine, leading to a increase in profit and a recognisable magazine bringing success.

Advantages Disadvantages

Already existing potential buyers due to the company distributing other magazines of the same genre.

May be less quality as more being distributed at once and products could be damaged

More efficient cash flow

Risks with larger number of products , loss of money if something went wrong.

More magazines ca be distributed at once

I could not find a small distributor for my product so I chose a large company to distribute my product as this was obviously the best way if the magazine is to be as successful and recognisable as I would like.

Future :extending to other media areas

Extending to the media area of television will allow an even bigger number of people to recognise the name. Also the channel will be suitable for those who enjoy watching TV more than reading. For example the television target market ,teenagers-25 as this generation prefer television than reading.

EG. www.mtv.comEnlarging the magazine to becoming a website also will allow more information and more detail to become available also, online advertisements could be an advantage.

Another media area that could be extended into is the radio. Having a radio station under the same name of the magazine will allow fans to be entertained whilst travelling.

Businesses sponsor festivals to enhance their reputation and promote their product. It is a way of guaranteeing people will notice the product.
