Bertie’s SpringBertie’s Spring Block of the Month

Four month programme 28" x 34" starts in June.

Bertie is back!This lovely little bird now appears on a four block quilt which you

can have ready for next Spring. Bertie’s Spring is designed by Bonnie Sullivan and features fused applique, simple hand embroidery and easy piecing. The fabrics

used in the quilt are all the same flannels pictured below. Each month you will be sent a pattern and the fabrics you need to

complete a portion of the quilt. You will also receive the button embellishments.

Price £22.00 plus £2.50 p&p each month (4 payments)

The quilt can be machine or hand appliqued. The designer recom-mends Soft Fuse for the applique and we love this product as it

In cotton we have two weights. The lightest, known as ‘Request’ is ideal for prams and cots whilst the medium weight, called ‘select’ is suitable for a toddler or as a playmat. These cotton wadding only require quilting every 6-8" and wash well

Modern Quilt? What is this Modern Quilt? I am happy to see new quilters coming along, discovering the joys of cut-it-up-and-put-it-back-together with all the utterly delightful fabrics that are around these days. And I love the

Modern Movement - quilts for using, minimalist design, clean colours, plains as well as patterns; all allied with skill in mak-ing, pleasure in quilting as well as piecing, and the desire to share skills and information.. So, I founded the Modern Quilt Group of the Quilters’ Guild of the British Isles last year, and

I’m attempting to spread the Word as far as I can.

So, from Thursday 20th to Saturday 22nd August, I will be at Quilter’s Haven with a display of Modern Quilts, demonstra-tions - hands-on mini-workshops, free patterns and ideas, and

*Make A New Bag Class with Annie WhatlingSaturday 15th August 2015 10.00 am to 4.00 pm Fee £35Start with a circle and finish with a roomy bag for all sorts of uses. Annie has a new design which you will love. Machine.

When a book or pattern is required for a class it is discounted by 10%, when purchased on the day of the class.

Machines can be hired, in advance for the workshops. Cost: £10 per day.

Beginners - Summer 2015 Fridays with Annie Whatling; 9.30am to 12.30pmStarting 8th May - five sessions.Learn all the basic skills such as rotary cutting, machine piecing, hand applique and finishing a quilt, add a sprinkling of humour and a large dash of companionship, to make a wall hanging and quilting friends for life! This is a great learning course based on Sew a Row Quilts book (required). Ideal also for those who feel they need a refresher course. Machine. Total course fee: £80 (payment in two instalments).

Quilt in a Week with Annie WatlingMonday 20th to Friday 24th July 2015Come and work on your own project or finish those U.F.O.’s. A tutor will be available in the mornings, to give advice, and then you spend the rest of the day sewing at your leisure. Total course fee £90 (pay-ment in two instalments).

Clubs:Our clubs are times when sewers can get-together and work on their own projects in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Tutors available for advice. Once enrolled you only pay when you come (£12) plus an enrolment fee.Monday Club and Tuesday Club 9.30am - 4.30 pm

Sit and Sew Days:- First Wednesday of the month 9.30 am to 4.30 pm. £12.00/day. Use our light and airy space with plenty of tables, drink lots of coffee and help yourself to a biscuit or two. Take advan-tage of our free demos on that day. No tutor.

A beautiful quilt that will make Christmas fun for the whole family. Featuring Mistletoe Lane fabric from Bunny Hill and

Moda fabrics, designed especially for this quilt. A special panel has been created that includes 25 tags that fit in the pockets on the quilt. You’ll find Cinnamon Goose throughout the quilt as

she helps you countdown the days until Christmas. She’ll greet you in block number one, and each day as you remove a tag

from a pocket, Cinnamon will cheer you on. It’s fun to see what each day brings when you remove the tags, and if you hang

them on a tree they become ornaments.

The kit includes all the fabric required for the quilt top and a pattern. Quilt kit price £255.00.

Arena Travel have planned another week long retreat to the amazing hilltop town of

Assisi in Italy, 7-14 September 2015. We went there for the first time in 2013 and is repeat-

ed due to popular demand. Karin will be teaching you on Bernina

machines (provided) and hand sewing on the relaxing balcony with the most amazing
