SBA BOARD

Caitlin E. RobinettSincerely,

have a great week, Santa Clara.

From The Editor:

“But tomorrow, dawn will come the way I picture her, barefoot and disheveled, standing outside my window

in one of the fragile cotton dresses of the poor. She will look in at me with her thin arms extended,

offering a handful of birdsong and a small cup of light.”-William Collins

I am sitting on my couch, watching West Wing, nursing a cold, eat-ing chow mein with my favorite chopsticks, and thinking about how I haven’t really articulated my New Years’ Resolutions. I have a feeling of what I want, but if I don’t define it, I won’t have anything to rely on when I start to falter. Most people think resolutions are pointless, but that’s not true for me. Change is gradual, but constant. New Years is an excuse to mark the changes that have been made and changes that I want to make in my life. To be better this year, I’m going to focus on all the new. The country has a new leader. Our school has a new president. I have new professors and maybe even new mentors. In El Salvador over break, I made new friends, lived new adventures, developed new passions and discovered new truths about myself. Although I gladly leave it behind, 2008 prepared me to be a better woman in the new year. I have never so much appreciated the dawn and will focus on all the good that can come out of one small cup of light.

Welcome back and

SBA Notes:

Townhall ForumSBA’s second annual Townhall Forum is scheduled for Thursday February 5th, 2009 from 12-1 p.m. (full- time) and 5-6 p.m.(part-time). The Townhall forum is an event where you can ask the Deans and administration questions and bring up any concerns that you have. Email any SBA board member or representative if you have concerns that you would like addressed.

Facebook FolliesSome students have expressed concern regarding facebook and other social networking sites. The SBA would just like to give a friendly reminder that photos and information posted on these sites are viewable by friends, future-employers, and sometimes the public. We are all representatives of Santa Clara and need to be mindful of such. Please be careful!
