A Level B B B with B in a Biology*, Human Biology, Chemistry or Physics

2:1 (upper second class) Bachelor's degree in an appropriate science or exercise based subject

OR

A 3 year diploma in an appropriate science or exercise based subject

Students are normally asked to meet IELTS 7.0 with no subsection less than 6.5

Other English language tests / qualifications can normally be accepted

32 points with 6 in HL Biology, Chemistry or Physics

STPM with Matriculation (Matrikulasi)

B B B with B in Biology, Chemistry or

Common Approach to AdmissionsApplications are received via the University and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) or via the Keele University online direct application form

• First screened for academic specific subjects being taken and grades• Personal statement is then read by an academic staff member for

content pre-interview– If score if above a pre-determined* threshold will be invited for an

interview• Student then interviewed

– Normally in person if in the UK or via Skype for other countries• Interviewed following a MMI methodology

– If score if above a pre-determined* threshold thenstudent made an offer

*score can change for each academic year

Personal Statement

Personal StatementThe scoring system used in radiography looks for the personal statement and academic reference to include the following:

• Reference highlights suitability for profession• Coherent personal statement• Health related work experience• Interests (extra-curricular activities)• Leadership• Teamwork• Understanding of the profession• Evidence of the 6C’s

Work ExperienceNot all students get work experience within the field they

wish to study.

Many hospitals and clinics now have much stricter privacy and confidentiality agreements in place that prevent students observing.

Ideally observing a clinician is the ‘gold’ standard.

Experience should link to the 6C’s so any caring roles or volunteer work with individuals with disabilities

can count.

Examples of Adequate Work Experience

1. Caring for a sibling or family member with a disability

2. Volunteer experience with a charity that works with the vulnerable (adults or children)

3. Employment experience of supporting individuals with specialist needs

Multiple Mini Interviews

Multiple Mini Interviews (MMI)MMI follows a Values Based Recruitment model across a number of stations testing each of the required skills needed of a health professional.

There can be a number of different stations included ranging from up to 4 in radiography.

Stations for radiography may include:
