RESULTS CVS utilised the expertise of one of its Rating Directors who specialises in achieving reductions in the leisure sector. By negotiating with the Valuation Office Agency (VOA), CVS secured an agreement to have all the sites dealt with simultaneously. By presenting a solid case of evidence to the Valuation Office Agency including turnover information and up to date details of facilities present, savings of over £150,000 should be achieved across the seven year Rating List. SURVEYOR COMMENTS “In order to achieve the best result for the client, we decided that discussing all Go Ape’s sites at the same time would work in our favour. This is not generally done, but by pushing hard for a conclusion we were able to wrap everything up in a coordinated fashion to ensure consistency and complete the negotiations all at once. By working closely with the client to obtain the correct receipts based evidence and by a thorough assessment of each site and its facilities, several reductions were achieved.” Philip Emerick, Rating Director, CVS Savings of £151,802 Savings of £151,802 “We have been very pleased with the results CVS have achieved for us. The process has been very simple for us and CVS kept us informed of the case progress at each step. Having all our sites dealt with simultaneously has been a real bonus in terms of budgeting and cash-flow. The savings CVS have generated for us will be invested into our adventure business allowing us to continue to offer the highest standard of unique and exhilarating experiences for Go Ape thrill seekers.” PAUL ROSSITER, FINANCE DIRECTOR, GO APE
