The Department of Entomology is one of the twelve departments of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Antananarivo. The department comprises four major laboratories for teaching and conducting research respectively on: "  Insect systematics and Forest entomology working on identification of insects

and insect conservation mainly of tropical forests and others various ecosystems; "  Veterinary and Medical entomology treating the vector-parasites-hosts interactions in

veterinary and public health mainly on malaria and tropical disease vectors ; "  Crop protection and Agricultural entomology working on pest management and

beneficials; "  PICS (Health and Crop Integrated Protection) providing trainings on laboratory and

field entomological techniques.
