Academy Het Dorpis initiated by SIZA and is based on over 50 years of experience with independent living for people with a disability or chronic illness.

Worldwide approx. 200 million people with a disability have to face serious limitations in their daily activities.This number is increasing by population growth, medical progress and the ageing population.Source: World Report on Disability (WHO)

SIZA wants to share knowledge and experience and to accelerate innovation. It therefore developed Academy Het Dorp as a platform for science and innovation. To be carried out together with a.o. knowledge institutions and companies.

The conception is new en last month a national Health Deal was signed by over 50 bodies like companies, knowledge institutions, financial organizations and administrations
