REFLECTION
Heavenly Father, during this gathering, as we look to the future, help us to hear the voice of the Spirit. And to be conscious of the richness of gifts you have given us as well as our human limitations. Give us wisdom in discernment, prudence in judgement, firmness in decision and wisdom in planning. May diversity of views come together in common goals. Gathered in your name. May we reach decisions enriched by your spirit and always act with due concern for both the present and the future, respecting our traditions whilst being attentive to the signs of the time. We ask this through Christ, Our Lord. Amen

Dear Families, This week’s reflection is very relevant, as we have just completed the first phase of our Review and the Board Surveys have been returned. We are in the process of discerning our goals as a school for the next four years.
On Wednesday we worked with our Reviewer, Graeme Luck, on our 2016-2019 School Improvement Plan (SIP) and our 2017 Annual Action Plan (AAP). Once these have been developed they will be presented to the members of the School Board and then to the school community. Mr. Luck will present his final report on Tuesday, 19 July.
This week I had the pleasure of taking five Year 4 girls to Presentation College Windsor to participate in the Bright Sparks Programme. They have written a short piece regarding this project:
Bright Sparks was amazing. When we all got to PCW we were shown where we were going to spend the day. First we were introduced to the teachers that were going to be with us that day. There was Mr Godbold, Ms Brisker and Ms Fraser. We were then divided up and introduced to our group of children. We had to come up with a group name. My group’s name was Yon. In Japanese it means 4. Everyone in my group was friendly and enthusiastic. We started “Brainstorming” the ideas that came into our heads when we heard the words Journey, Learning, Community and Dreamtime. Then we were told we would be making a story using an aboriginal story and a story about P.C.W. called The Seven Sisters. The day continued with us making up our own aboriginal symbols for our story. We did this creating beautiful pictures with pencil and our imaginations. We busily started writing the story as a group. Working together with great pride. The challenge was that we were told that the story should only contain 12 sentences! What a brain-teasing task! In conclusion, we wrote a magnificent story! Stay tuned for our presentation at P.C.W. (Siena)
On the 2nd of June, 4 Trinity students and I went to PCW to do a
project called 'Bright Sparks Seven Sisters Dreaming'. We worked
with some of their year 8 mentors and teachers to explore PCW's
history and how it relates to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander's
history and culture. We had to write a story based on Aboriginal time including the Seven Sisters Dreaming. It was very interesting
and fun as I made some new friends from other schools. I can't wait
to go to PCW again for presenting our creative stories which will
be held on the 7th of June. Yen
On Monday, we sent home a booking form for the upcoming Student Led Conferences which will be held on Wednesday, 27 July. Please return the forms by tomorrow, Friday 10 June in order for us to draw up a roster for the conferences and engage interpreters for the day. Have a great week. Yours sincerely Licia Marchese Principal
