THE BRIGHTON SOURCE• Free publication that can be found in most pubs/cafes

in Brighton. • Described as your ‘essential coffee table material’ by

readers.• Includes reviews on gigs, restaurants, interviews and

advertisements.• Not typically generic of regional magazine conventions.• The photographs and typography are niche, keeping it

unique and different to other magazines in the area. • There are no stats to be found, but by the information

given I would say both genders would enjoy this magazine as it is offered for free in stereotypically male and female environments.

CONCLUSION• From the research I have gathered I have noticed that most the

readers of regional magazines are over the age of 50, so I’d like to challenge this convention by making a magazine for younger people, maybe students.

• I’d like to make the magazine less serious and more for younger people based in the Thanet area, Margate especially as I believe it is an up and coming area that could use good advertisement.

• I’d also like to make the magazine free so it is available for everyone to read and easily accessible in every environment. Also students typically don’t have disposable income so wont have the money to spend on magazines monthly.
