Elon University Hosts Third “Relay for Life” Students Raise Money to Support Cancer Patients in Triad Area
Elon University students and other supporters will come together to walk in the school’s
annual “Relay for Life” from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. on April 24-25, 2015 to honor those
affected by cancer. They will walk behind the Gerald L. Francis Center on the east side of
campus, and entertainment throughout the night includes food trucks, live performances,
and games. Students formed teams and have aimed to raise a total of $75,000 that will go
towards the American Cancer Society to fund research and treatment.
WHO: Elon students, staff, families affected by cancer, and local residents WHAT: Participants of “Relay for Life” have raised money for cancer research
and will walk throughout the night. WHERE: Recreational fields north of the Gerald L. Francis Center 762 East Haggard Ave., Elon, NC 27244 Parking is available at the center’s entrance or just east of the building. WHEN: April 24, 2015 at 6 p.m. to April 25, 2015 at 6 a.m. A Luminaria Ceremony honoring friends and family members who have
passed from cancer will take place at 9:30 p.m. WHY: To raised money and awareness of a disease that affects millions of
Americans and to honor those who have suffered from cancer.
