3. NEW AND ENHANCED BUSINESS FEATURES - SOFTWARE (NON
LICENSED)
3.1 WebPro Enhancement – Save/Restore system data
WebPro now allows the System Administrator to save or restore the SV8100 system database.
WebPro is accessed via a web browser.
Previously this was only possible by using PCPro which is the engineer’s application and requires
installation onto the Administrators PC plus updating in-line with the SV8100 Main Software.
3.1.1 Benefits
System Administrators can take a backup of the database.
3.1.2 Required Software and Hardware

3.1.4 Technical Information
No configuration is required to enable this feature.
a) Partial save/restore is not available – all system data is contained in one file.
b) The system database is compressed and stored in a gzip format (.gz file). The compressed file
cannot be opened with the PCPro application, it must be un-compressed first. A general
application must be used to un-compress the .gz file.
c) A PCPro file can be compressed to gzip format to be used by WebPro.
d) The PZ-ME50 Memory Expansion card must be installed onto the SV8100 CPU card as
additional memory is required for the save/restore operation.
e) Save/Restore is not possible if another user is currently connected with either WebPro or
KeyTel Pro.
f) Another user cannot connect using WebPro or KeyTel Pro while the database is being
saved/restored.
g) Save/restore is available at the following user levels:
1 = Manufacturer 2 = Installer 3 = System Administrator level 1 (SA1)
h) The SV8100 CPU will automatically restart when the restore is complete. (The Save operation
does not cause the CPU to restart).
i) Calls will not be disconnected, the lines will be blocked until all become free and then the CPU
will restart.
j) The restore operation will be cancelled if there is an error detected in the .gz file or if the
version is not correct (Use PCPro to convert the database, as shown below).
k) A restore operation will be logged in the Modification History of WebPro.
l) History data and license information is saved with the PCPro data (in the *.pcp file) but these
are not included with the data saved by WebPro (in the *.gz file).
Therefore this information will not be available when WebPro file is viewed with PCPro and it
will be ignored if the *.pcp file is restored with WebPro.
m) The gzip file cannot be viewed within WebPro; it is only available to upload to the SV8100 to
restore the configuration.
n) Care must be taken with the version of the system database that is to be restored to the CPU:
If the database is a higher version than the CPU then it will not be loaded to the CPU
card, the restore operation will be cancelled.
If the database is a lower version than the CPU then it will be loaded to the CPU but
only the common data will be loaded.
o) Only database version R8 and R9 can be restored to a CPU card with R9 Main Software.
p) Database versions R7 and prior must first be converted by PCPro (un-compress the *.gz file,
Open then save with PCPro V9 and then compress to gzip format).
q) If the data connection is broken or the CPU power is turned off during a save/restore the
process fails, the save/restore is cancelled.

3.2 WebPro Enhancement – Upgrade Main Software
WebPro now allows the System Administrator to upgrade the SV8100 Main System Software.
The new Main Software files are copied to the PZ-ME50 card and when all are uploaded the CPU will
restart with the new Main Software.
The ‘old’ Main Software files are deleted from the PZ-ME50.
It is not necessary to have a blank USB memory plugged into the CPU card.
3.2.1 Benefits
Allows the System Administrator to upgrade the SV8100 Main Software.

3.2.4 Technical Information
No configuration is required to enable this feature.
a) If the data connection is broken or power is removed from the system during the uploading files
the process stops, in order to start again you have to re-connect with WebPro and repeat the
upload.
b) If the power switch on the SV8100 is turned off during the upload the system will not power
off until the upload is complete.
c) If the power is removed from the system while the new Main Software files are being loaded
and the ‘old’ files are being deleted the system may not start up. The required files may not
exist on the PZ-ME50 card.
Note that this period is very short so is unlikely to occur.
d) The system will automatically restart after the upload; any calls in progress will be
disconnected.

3.3 NAT Improvement for Registration Timers
When a DT700 Terminal connects to the SV8100 via NAT the intermediate router may have a firewall
function, if there is no communication for a defined period the router may close the port used by the
DT700. This will block the IP packets and the terminal will not function correctly.
A solution to this is to reduce the Registration and Subscription Expiry timers – this may then cause
unnecessary network load if a large quantity of DT700 terminals are also connected on the LAN since
the same timers are used.
The Registration and Subscription timers for DT700 terminals connected via the LAN can be longer
duration than those connected via NAT; these timers are now separate with R9 software.
3.3.1 Benefits
Prevents unnecessary network load due to short NAT Registration and Subscription timers.
3.3.2 Required Software and Hardware
SV8100 R9 Software
NAPT Traversal License BE108834
3.3.3 Required Training

3.3.4 Technical Information
The following configuration is required to enable this feature.
New CMDs
15-05-47 Registration Timer Expiry for NAT (0, 60 – 65535 Seconds) default = 180
A setting of 0 will disable the timer and a DT700 connected via NAT will use the timer specified in 84-
23-01.
15-05-48 Subscription Timer Expiry for NAT (0, 60 – 65535 Seconds) default = 180
A setting of 0 will disable the timer and a DT700 connected via NAT will use the timer specified in 84-
23-02.
Related CMD’s
10-46-14 NAT Mode (0=disable, 1=enable) default = disabled.
This must be set to 1 if DT700 terminals are connected via NAT.
10-58- DT700 Local Network Area Setup
This CMD sets the local network area of the DT700 terminals not connected via NAT (IP Address and
Sub Net Mask).
84-23-01 Registration Timer Expiry for NAT (60 – 65535 Seconds) default = 180
This sets the expiry timer for DT700 terminals not connected via NAT (or if the NAT timer is disabled
in 15-05-47).
85-23-02 Subscription Timer Expiry for NAT (60 – 65535 Seconds) default = 3600
This sets the expiry timer for DT700 terminals not connected via NAT (or if the NAT timer is disabled
in 15-05-48).
Judgement of NAT terminal
The judgement of NAT terminal is performed by the following conditions.
1. CMD 10-46-14: NAT mode = On
The network address in the Contract header received from the terminal is NOT the same as:
2. The network address of the system
3. All of the network addresses in CMD10-58
NetLink Operation
When a DT700 is registered to the secondary system the timer of the primary system from CMD 15-05-
47 & 48 are used.
Timer setting and quantity of NAT terminals
Since the network load will increase with the quantity of NAT terminals it is recommended that the
following minimum settings are used.
Quantity of terminals / minimum timer setting
1~144 ~192 ~180 ~512
CMD15-05-47 60 90 180 180
CMD15-05-48 60 90 180 480

3.4 NetLink Improvement for Buffer Operation
The sending of data packets via a NetLink connection can be set to Immediate or Buffered.
With Buffered operation the SV8100 will only send the data packets when one of the following
conditions is met:
1. The previous packet has been acknowledged
2. The packet size exceeds the minimum size
3. 120mS after the previous packet was sent
Buffering operation can reduce the network load by grouping together smaller packets until the
minimum size is exceeded, therefore sending a smaller quantity of larger packets.
Buffering operation can cause problems when sending DTMF digits via a NetLink connection to a
remote analogue trunk: DTMF digits must be sent immediately.
To ensure DTMF digits are sent immediately the SV8100 with R9 Main Software will ensure the data
packet exceeds the minimum size.
3.4.1 Benefits
Buffering operation reduces network load.
3.4.2 Required Software and Hardware

The following configuration is required to enable this feature.
Related CMDs
51-01-04 Signal Transmit Method (0=Immediate, 1=Buffered) default = see below.
Default value prior to R9 = Immediate
Default value with R9 = Buffered
a) With Buffered operation the SV8100 will use the Nagle Algorithm to improve transmit
efficiency and only send the data packets when one of the following conditions are met:
1. The previous packet has been acknowledged
2. The packet size exceeds the minimum size
Packet size is larger than MSS (Maximum Segment Size)
3. 120mS after the previous packet was sent
b) CMD51-01-04 must be enabled at the Primary and Secondary systems as it only effect the
transmit data.
c) DTMF digits are always sent immediately by adding dummy data to ensure the packet size
exceeds the MSS.

3.5 F-Route Enhancement for Call History
Calls made from the terminals incoming call history can now be routed via F-Route.
This ensures the call is routed as required by the SV8100 system configuration.
Without this setting the call will seize a trunk port based on the outgoing trunk routing setup for the
terminal.
3.5.1 Benefits
Ensures that all calls made the user are routed similarly, F-Route may be setup to reduce call costs or
for networking to other systems.
3.5.2 Required Software and Hardware
SV8100 R9 Software
3.5.3 Required Training
SV8100 R9 Update Training Recommended.
3.5.4 Technical Information
The following configuration is required to enable this feature.
New CMD
20-02-26 F-Route outgoing mode from incoming call history (0=Off, 1=On) default = Off.
This is a system option that applies to all terminals.
a) The feature does not work for Last Number Redial; these use the same trunk group that was
used for the original call.
b) The feature does not work if the user pre-selects a trunk and then dials from the call history (as
pre-selection bypasses the F-Route operation).

3.6 VRS Message – Prohibit DTMF Detection
The VRS announcements played to incoming callers can be setup to not detect DTMF digits.
The system will play the full announcement, wait for the dial timer to expire and then follow the fall-
over operation.
3.6.1 Benefits
Will ensure the incoming caller listens to the complete announcement.
3.6.2 Required Software and Hardware

3.7 Mobile Extension – Progress Tone
Callers using the Mobile Extension feature can hear a Progress Tone while the call is being routed.
Once the call is routed they will hear the appropriate busy tone or ringback tone.
Prior to R9 the caller would hear ringback tone while the call was being routed; this is confusing if the
destination is busy as they hear ringback tone followed by busy tone.
3.7.1 Benefits
Prevents the callers hearing confusing tones.
3.7.2 Required Software and Hardware
SV8100 R9 Software
3.7.3 Required Training
SV8100 R9 Update Training Recommended.

When enabled the system will send the progress tone specified in 80-01-54.
When disabled the system will send ringback tone.
Modified CMD
80-01-54 Service Tones - Progress Tone, default tone = 100mS on, 600mS off.
a) Progress tone is not supported for Standard SIP terminal or S-Point terminal.
DT700 terminal is supported.
b) Progress tone will not be heard if Ringback tone is already received eg:
If first calling an extension number and using continue dialling.
Calling an extension with Call Forward No-answer to the Mobile Extension.
Pilot Call – Step Call to the Mobile Extension.

3.8 VRS Dialling – Single Digit Enhancement
The single digit options are no longer restricted to just unused digits within the system dial plan.
For example,
If the Dial plan is setup to use extension numbers 100 to 299 you can now also use single digit options
1 & 2 to route to either the single digit destination or an extension number.
The system does this with a new timer that starts when the first digit is dialled by the incoming caller.
o If this timer expires the call is routed to the single digit destination.
o If the incoming caller dials further digits the call is routed to the extension number.
3.8.1 Benefits
Customers can use all single digits 0-9, * and # without any concern to extension numbers, pilot
numbers etc.

3.9 Caller ID – CLI Passthrough for Consultancy Calls
When an external call is held and then transferred to another outbound call the SV8100 can pass
through the Caller ID of the external held call.
This is useful for un-supervised transfer as the ringing party will see the correct CLI while the call is
ringing.
The feature can also be used for calls routed by a Virtual Loop – when calls are held and then
transferred via a Virtual Loop the called party will see the correct CLI.
This feature will also need to be supported by the Network Provider to send arbitrary CLI.
3.9.1 Benefits
Allows users answer calls with the appropriate greeting.

This is a Class of Service option.
14-01-45 Transfer CLI (0=Default CLI, 1=Held Party CLI) default = Default CLI.
This is a trunk option that can be set for Virtual Loop trunks.
Default CLI will send the CLI based on existing settings.
a) The feature also requires CMD 14-01-24 (Trunk to Trunk Outgoing Caller ID through mode) is
enabled for the outgoing trunk.
b) If CLI information is Private Call or Number Not Available then this will be passed through to
the outbound call.
c) If the held trunk does not provide CLI then the CLI for the outgoing trunk is used. This CLI
will be based on existing settings.

3.10 SMDR Enhancement for Virtual Loops
The SMDR output has been enhanced to allow accurate tracking of calls that are routed via the internal
Virtual Loop.
Calls routed via the Virtual Loop are split into two separate records on the SMDR due to the loop being
a virtual trunk port within the system.
There is a new SMDR option that links the two SMDR records; this allows the Call Logger to identify
the combined calls.
This option is also supported by MyCalls V4.0
3.10.1 Benefits
Call Loggers / MyCalls can show accurate call records.

3.10.4 Technical Information
The following configuration is required to enable this feature.
New CMD
35-02-24 Mark Virtual Loop (0=Don’t mark, 1=mark) default = Don’t Mark.
When a call is routed through the Virtual Loop it is presented as a new incoming ISDN call.
The example below shows an incoming call on trunk 2 that is routed via Virtual S-Point extension 261,
this presents as a new looped call on virtual trunk port 5 to extension 201.
This call will generate two records on the SMDR output. 01/07/2011 PAGE 004

18 IVIN 15:00 002 00:00:01 261 1509664 0:02
With the new option enabled the SMDR output will mark each record.
The Virtual Loop S-Point is also changed to show the associated virtual trunk port number.
This is used by the Call Logger / MyCalls to combine the two records. 01/07/2011 PAGE 004

a) CMD 35-02-03 Trunk Number and 35-02-09 Extension Number will affect the output of the
SMDR but will not prevent the Call Logger / MyCalls from combining the records.
b) CMD 35-02-16 must be set to 1 (Trunk Name/Number) otherwise the received dialled number
is output rather than the trunk port information.

3.12.4 Technical Information
The following configuration is required to enable this feature.
New CMD
15-05-49 Receiving SIP Info (0=Not allowed, 1=Allowed any time, 2=Allowed while RTP is not
available) default = 2, Allowed while RTP is not available.
When set to 0 SIP Info (DTMF) messages are ignored.
When set to 1 SIP Info (DTMF) messages are accepted during call setup and conversation.
When set to 2 SIP Info (DTMF) messages are accepted only during the call setup, they are ignored
during conversation.
a) Sip Info messages are sent Out of band so are available while a conversation is not in progress.
b) RTP is active during conversation so DTMF can be sent either in-band within the RTP or out of
band within a SIP Info message.
c) This feature works for Standard SIP devices including IPDECT, it does not affect other
terminals e.g. DT700 and trunks.
d) When set to 1 the SV8100 may receive double digits if the SIP device sends DTMF as both
tone within the RTP and also by SIP Info.
e) Changing from voice call to signal call is not possible as the call is in the conversation stage
(and RTP is active) during voice calling.

10-26-03 SIP Peer to Peer mode (0=Off, 1=On) default = 0 Off.
This item should be enabled.
10-26-05 SIP CTI mode (0=disable, 1=enable) default = 0 disable.
This item should be disabled.
a) The video call is Peer to Peer, no DSP resource is used during the video call.
b) Only SIP Trunk interconnection within an SV8100 network is available for SIP video calls.
c) The following comments are from the SIP Extension Features - SIP Video section of the
SV8100 VoIP Manual, please refer to this manual for further standard SIP settings. Conditions/Comments
The video stream cannot pass through the IPLA card, SIP Peer to Peer must be enabled.
SIP CTI must be disabled.
Video communication between a Standard SIP terminal and the SP310 Softphone is not possible.
The SIP terminal must pass interoperability testing by NEC before it can be supported.
The video codec is not supported by the IPLA card. The video codec information from the received SDP message will be forwarded to the destination terminal.
The communicating video terminals must support common audio and video codecs.
SIP Video is not supported across AspireNet or K-CCIS as the communication between the SIP terminals is not Peer to Peer.
Be aware of bandwidth requirements of video communication, this will be considerably higher than a voice call. Bandwidth is dependent on codec selection, frame rate and resolution. Check the manufacturer’s data sheet for the relevant terminal for further details.
There must be a STD SIP Video license installed on the SV8100 along with the Standard SIP Terminal licenses.

d) When all of the following conditions are met the SIP terminal can make a P2P video call:
Peer to Peer setup
10-12-06 NAT mode = Off
14-08-03 SIP Trunk P2P mode = On
10-26-03 SIP P2P mode = On
10-26-05 SIP CTI mode = Off

Voice (P2P)
Voice & Video (P2P)
e) When Peer to Peer is enabled in 14-18-03.
The user cannot hold the call
The user cannot transfer a call to the SIP trunk
When the user makes a call to the SIP trunk from a non-standard SIP terminal the call will
not be P2P, a DT300 terminal will use one DSP resource for the trunk, a DT700 terminal
will use two DSP resources.
f) When the user makes a video call the following limitations occur.
Video capability is required in the initial invite message from the SIP video terminal
During the call the user cannot change from video to voice call or from voice to video.
Peer to Peer connection is required to make a video call. So the video feature is not
available with CTI/OAI applications as these need non P2P connection.
Connection to a Multi-Point Control Unit (MCU)
a) ‘Dial in’ and ‘Dial out’ feature is supported.
b) When connecting the MCU into the SIP Network the Carrier Type setting in CMD 10-29-14
must be 0. No other carrier type is supported for SIP Video.
c) The user has to set the same video capability for the MCU as on their video device.
d) F-Route can be used to route specified dialled numbers to the SIP trunks connected to the
MCU.

4.4 Mobile Extension Enhancement – DDI Routing
Calls made from the Mobile Extension into a DDI on the SV8100 can be selectively routed as a Mobile
Extension call or as a normal DDI call.
• As a Mobile Extension call the system will send internal dial tone to the mobile user to allow
them to dial into the SV8100
• As a normal DDI the system will follow the DDI routing tables
4.4.1 Benefits
This gives more flexibility to Mobile Extensions to choose how they want to call into their office

4.4.4 Technical Information
The following configuration is required to enable this feature.
Changed CMD
22-11-13 Identify for Mobile Extension (0=Off, 1=On) default = 0 Off.
This item is set per DDI.
When On the incoming call from the Mobile Extension users will check CMD 13-04 (Speed Dial) and
if the Caller ID is setup as a Mobile Extension the caller will receive internal Dial tone.
When Off the incoming call will always follow the DDI routing defined in CMD 22-11-02.
With this method it is possible to assign one DDI for ‘Mobile Extension access’ that can be shared by
all mobile extension users and all other DDI’s can route as normal.
Example.
13-04-01 Speed dial 001 = 090 1234 5678
15-22-01 Speed dial 001 is assigned as a Mobile Extension
CMD 22-11 22-11-01 22-11-13
Table Receive DDI Identify Mobile Extension
1 5656 On
2 7474 Off
When a call is from the Mobile with CLI = 090 1234 5678 to:
DDI 5656 the call will route as a mobile extension user.
DDI 7474 the call will route as a normal DDI
