REMASCO Greenhouse Why is it Different and Better?

It is the Right Size

A 2ooft long REMASCO greenhouse will produce over 100tonnes/yr of tomatoes or 30-40tonnes/yr of strawberries. All produce processing/packaging will occur on site.

It will generate over $500K/yr in revenues, over half of which will remain within the community in the form of jobs and locally incurred expenses.


The REMASCO greenhouse only incorporates well proven technology!


1.) It is only 82ft Wide X ~250ft long but modular. The arched design easily accommodates high snow and wind loadings.


2.) It only requires 300kW of electricity for lit production.


3.) It has less than half the exposed roof area than an equivalently sized, modern glass greenhouse:

a.) Despite the reduced roof area it captures no less natural sunlight.

b.) Requires less than half the energy to heat.


4.) It uses low-energy, forced draft ventilation to minimize makeup air and CO2 loss all year round.


5.) It doubles planting density by reducing spacing between the rows by eliminating need for worker access and heating rails.


6.) The heating rails are used to structurally support each row.


7.) The REMASCO greenhouse incorporates both, radiant and convective heating.


8.) Energy curtains to be drawn down the south face at night or during cloudy periods to reduce energy consumption even further.


9.) The REMASCO greenhouse incorporates both, evaporative and liquid desiccant cooling/dehumidification. Liquid desiccant cooling allows latent heat to be recovered from humidity in the air to further reduce heat loss, especially during wintertime operation.


10.) All systems within the REMASCO greenhouse are able to be remotely monitored to provide guidance, support and training to local employees 24/7, 365 days/yr.


11.) The training and support received by the local employees can be better utilized by the community by implementing district heating and community water treatment.
