    by partnership, continuing to

focus on our commitment to be

    responsive to the students and

    communities we serve. That

    responsiveness ultimately led to

    sustained rapid growth, as our

    schools became known for their

    high academic achievement,

    blended learning systems, inte-

    grated character building pro-

    grams, unique teacher coaching

    and mentoring model, and ever

increasing successful graduates. Our current long-term pro-

    jections are ambitious, as they

    should be, and will require

    tremendous teamwork to real-

    ize. We are determined to

    recognized leader in innovation

    and academic achievement,

    and to participate with like-

    minded organizations to

    transform education within the

    next decade.

    Our continued momentum

be predicated in part on con-

    tinued rapid growth. However,

    an increasing portion of that

growth will come as the result

    of collaborations with a broad

    portfolio of public and private

    partners to both expand the

    scope of our endeavors and

strengthen our core businesswith new ventures. We are

    excited at the opportunities

    these partnerships present and

    look forward to the coming

    year with great expectations.

    Chuck Cook, CEO

This is due in no small part to

    our passionate board of directors,

    talented administrators and

    educators who have joined us,

as well as collaborative efforts of

the students, parents, and com-munity leaders.

    We have been selected to

    participate in a unique oppor-

    tunity with Austin ISD that

    demonstrates we not only

    understand the concept of col-

    laboration, but can execute in

    a truly collaborative manner

with a partner that, in times

    past, would have considered us

    a competitor. We believe this

experience will propel us to a

    higher level of thinking and

    achievement.

    We are especially grateful

to the thousands of studentswhose commitment, dedication,

    and hard work have sustained

our belief in them as well as

    the collective methodologies

    we embrace.

    This company was created

    through a shared vision for

    effective collaboration. We have

stayed true to our vision and let

history, the current generationof students seems unlikelyto enjoy the same prosperityand quality of life than theirparents did.

In the last half of the 20thcentury, our much-praised pub-lic education system became anunresponsive bureaucracy that

    burned out teachers, frustrated

administrators, angered taxpay-ers, and failed a large portion ofits students.

We are reinventing educa-tion as it should be for the 21stcenturyrich in tradition,

with a talented and motivatedfaculty, character-buildingcurriculum, academic rigor, technologically enabled learn-ing, and a fully engaged student

body. We have managed to do

this by honoring the talents andmission of all those involvedin the education process and-mary directives under which

    we have always operated:

    2. We believe every student

    can learn.

    3. We expect students to own

    the learning process.

    4. We value the learning process

    as our primary goal.

    5. We acknowledge each student

    as an individual with unique

qualities and talents. With these basic tenets

and a lot of hard work, webelieve that ResponsiveEdcan help restore public educa-tion to what it was and shouldstill bethe gateway to the

    American dream.
