Changes in the Library Thank you to the P&C for our new “smartboard” that is being installed this week. The board will be placed in the centre of the back wall which will allow students to see the board more easily. This will involve some rearranging of furniture and signs, but that will be the easy part. Please support the P&C as they have been very supportive of our school and the library over the past two years.

Library Books Books are due back in the library by Friday 7th December. Borrowing will cease in Week 9 for all classes. Students can access e books via their student portal. E books and audio books are available through Oliver, our regular library system. Students access Oliver using their school username and password. Some students may have a number after their names. E books and audio books have a different symbol. By clicking on the title they will go to another screen which has a “borrow book” button. Books are borrowed for two weeks – the system will return them if they have not been returned by this time. An internet connection is required for download but after this they can be read from computers and other devic-es without an internet connection.

Book Club Pamphlets have gone home for issue 8. This is the last issue for this year. Orders are due online or at school by this Friday 30th November. If you want to order items as a gift, mark this on your online order or add a note to orders brought to the library. We will do our best and contact you to collect your items. Kinder Red Maths

Students in Kinder Red have been learning how to calculate the total of a large collection of counters quickly. The boys and girls organise their counters into arrays of ten and if there are any leftover counters, they are learning to arrange them into dice patterns. Once all the counters in their collection have been arranged, students can then skip count to see how many they have altogether.

3/4T News On Thursday afternoon the 15th of November 3/4T had Connie Ahsee, a special visitor, come in and teach us about bull roarers. After learning about how Aboriginal people used bull roarers and the sound they make, Connie completed an Art lesson where the students used their fingers to paint the their own bull roarer using white, yellow, green and brown paint. The students in 3/4T are currently using the bull roarers to make up a display to be hung in the library for other students to learn about bull roarers.
