“There aren’t many apps for Windows Phone” Since October 2010, Windows Phone Store has built a catalogue of over 100,000 apps, including the ones you love best. And Microsoft has made it even easier for developers to build apps for both Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8, so more and more Apps will come quickly to the Store. At the moment, it’s around 300 a day! And added to that, with Internet Explorer 10 you get a brilliant web browsing experience…just like on a PC.

I heard the battery life is poor” All smartphones put demand on the battery and a phonesbattery life is largely dependent on what a user does with their phone. Battery life on a Windows Phone is comparable to other smartphones. “Get started...”Here are some simple steps to help you set up your phone with demo content so you can easily showcase all of these great features to your customers...

➞ To activate retail mode on a Windows Phone 8 device, go through the initial phone setup, including the country/region and, if necessary, entering the correct date/time.

➞ When you get to the KEEP YOUR LIFE IN SYNC page, tap the sign in button.

➞ Next, on the SIGN IN WITH A MICROSOFT ACCOUNT page, in the Microsoft account: field enter the following string: #retaildemomode

➞ Leave the Password field blank, tap the sign in button then setup will begin. When setup is complete, you will see a restart required page.

➞ Press restart and the phone will reboot.

➞ After the phone restarts it is in retail mode but demo content and apps still need to be downloaded over the air. Ensure the device has a high-speed data connection over cellular or Wi-Fi.

➞ Navigate to ‘Settings’, scroll down to ‘About’, then scroll to the bottom of the page and tap ‘Update Demo Phone’ to initiate downloading the demo content and apps.

➞ Because a lot of great stuff is added to the phone, the initial update may take 30 to 90 minutes.

➞ Nightly updates typically go much faster. The phone cannot be used while it is updating and should be plugged in to an AC power source.

➞ After the update completes successfully, the phone restarts. You are now ready to give demos to customers. Have fun!
